Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Depressed

Been with my current group for just a few years. Last week during an in office week, a team in my group got an email from their boss telling them they were expected to be in the office even though the forecast was predicting snow/ice for the following day. People are always vocalizing how unhappy they are and how this group keeps getting worse but I’d never before seen people who have been with the company for like 20, 25 years appear so depressed and angry.

It’s obvious the heavy toll each bad decision takes on people but they keep being made. The stuff now being said in the office by longtime associates like they don’t even care who hears it, about how awful the environment is and how badly people are being treated is on another level now. I feel so bad for everyone. No joke I’ve seen three women crying the past few in office weeks. Why is it like this? Will it ever improve? It’s so depressing!

The last storm we had, my manager sent a teams making sure we were in the office then sent on saying they wouldn’t be in because the roads were bad.

Social media team, stop spamming posts trying to gaslight people into thinking they have an addiction.

You should send that email up the chain. You think they’d want to avoid getting sued. Maybe throw in examples if people dying in storms like the girl up north who was coming home from Fidelity and a tree fell on her car and ki-led her.

I cried on the way home yesterday. Been here over 10. Hate my new position and department.

No one should be encouraging people to travel if they’re uncomfortable. Been hearing that more and more lately about encouraging reps to risk their lives for a badge swipe.

Oh the men cry in the office too. Just isn’t as common. It’s been a minute since I’ve seen any cry lately, but it wasn’t uncommon.

I feel like this could be true for any group now. It’s sad the culture is so depressing. Women on my team have talked about having another baby to get a few months of peace.
