Regulator Issues Asset Cap

is the OC sending a message that we should not actively identify issues so that outstanding issues have a downward trend when regulators review them? This would help have the asset cap removed.

Agree100%, this asset cap in place for 5 years is driving penny pinching and most of the chaos in all areas of the bank.

Yeah, well, speak for your own group. All my groups issues are self IDd, and have been for a long time.

not identifying issues isn't the way to get the asset cap removed. Our "issue" is that too many of our issues are not self-identified by the business unit, and instead get discovered by 2nd line, 3rd line, or regulators. So it's actually the opposite. We are supposed to get better at self-identification.

The asset cap is not going to be removed until we can demonstrate to regulators that we have a sustained way of managing risk, that is BAU. Self-identification of issues is one of many dimensions that are required. The regulators are asking/demanding that we meet an established industry standard - everyone else operates this way and has for many years.

Vote in November. That’s literally all we need to do.

At this point, we're not doing anything the rest of the big banks aren't doing. We need that damn cap removed before all of our jobs are in India. The people they are trying to punish with the cap are long gone, all they are doing now is costing people that weren't to blame for the scandals to lose their jobs and be miserable.
