Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Time to call their bluff.

Not just me, but I know of many T employees that are completely ignoring RTO. I refuse to go into an office, been telecommuting for 21 years now. I am a top performer, I am willing and able to take my chances. This will turn out much like the hub bullcr-p, wanting employees to move to Dallas on your own dime. Time to take a stand, like I said earlier, I'll take my chances. Even if I'm caught, I really don't see them doing anything. My boss fully supports/likes me, I think I'm golden.

It won’t be your boss who makes the decision to force you out, but higher levels. I was forced to retire last year, over 70 miles from the office, but no surplus choice. My level 6 said I had to retire. My boss wanted to keep me. I was the only one with my particular skill set. They tried to hire me back 6 weeks after I left. Lol.

We all know that RTO is a power move and not a business necessity. They do not care for talents, knowledge loss, even your life. They will cut you off even if you think you are the only bandaid holding the ship. Stankey’s approach and the rest of the CSUITE is to cut cost, no matter what. He gets paid millions, so are his executives, investors and board of directors. Will this stupidity catch up to them? Eventually. But now as long as they are getting paid —- you are not really needed.

Funny that many believe that “top performer” means something…

Lies! Your boss will never support this.

Anyone can go to Insider, search for Org Chart Visualizer and get a research link that will show you the actual number. This is pretty widely known in the company.

“ Notice how I said workforce this includes those who aren't considered an "employee".”

You are still not accurate. The 141k number includes DTV and Contractors.

AT&T Badged employee numbers sit at about 100k and dropping.

And yes, I pulled the webphone data.

300k+ workforce??? surprise, surprise, see how things change when you're not paying attention, officially 141k and dropping

When you get strike 1, you'll know it's for real cause strike 3 is you turning in you badge. Not agreeing with it, but i have heard this is the RTO plan from multiple sources, including managers.

Here's the thing: you're replaceable. Your exit will barely make a wave in the 300k+ workforce this company has. That's the honest truth. If you're not willing to relocate they'll send you on your way with some money. Most companies don't offer severance packages.
