Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Jamie Dimon - 70 yr old touts coming to office 7 days a week as his reason to end WFH at JPM

"“I’ve had it with this stuff,” Dimon said during the town hall, according to Barron’s. “I’ve been working seven days a godda-n week since COVID, and I come in, and—where is everybody else?"

What a complete imbecile. A friggin 70 yr old who's kids are grown and wife hates his guts is coming to the office every day of the week and thinks everyone else should live like him.

'Cucked is an understatement.'

Fair enough.

regardless,, I still don't have to get up in the morning and go to the office (slated to be -9 in the morning). I have nothing more pressing to do but tweek the whiners about going back to work, and watching my investments rise and fall. :)

but, ya got me champ! enjoy the office!

Working at WF for decades is one level of pathetic, but being unemployed and running interference for the bank that laid you off by...dunking on working parents is something else. Cucked is an understatement.

'If you are retired and have no dog in the fight, why are you even on this board? You and your opinion are irrelevant.

I certainly don't think working for a living is something to be ashamed of.'

Yes! That is the point!

After wells 'displaced' me and I got that sweet, sweet 14 month severance, I really don't have anything to do in the evenings except mock those that complain/make excuses about going to work instead of staying home and doing laundry and watching their children on wells fargo's dime.

I have 2 children and was able to make it work. I'm Gen X, so not a super old man.

FYI that troll is the boomer who takes out his resentment on this board for a life wasted working for Wells Fargo and no offspring to show for it. Hard to overstate the degree to which he was cucked by his employer.

Heh, not at all. I wake up every morning well rested, While you have to re-hire daycare and actually HAVE to work for a 'living'. I have no dog in this fight, I just enjoy poking the 'entitleds' like you, kitten.

We spend a billion dollars on offices for almost no discernable return. Any many roles it's actually a negative return. I've been driving to a stupid Fing building for 3 years now and have not had a single productive conversation during that entire time. Not one. Why? Because my teams are spread across the nation to support our customer. Colo is physically impossible, so going in is not only a complete waste of time, it means I'm less available to support my people as I drive around for no reason. For some roles, maybe it makes sense. What pi---s me off is that they want a blanket policy. The only reason to do that is to drive frustration and voluntary attrition. That's it, and F them for it.

Amen. If they were really such awesome dads, either they’d be providing enough for their wife to stay at home, OR be hiring a nanny/daycare to take care of their kids.

Taking care of their kids while in the clock is not good parenting or good working ethic to the company that’s paying you. Figure it out.

He’s got a point. For every one person who spends their previous commute time working, there are ten who are spending their time doing everything BUT work.

I am sick of it. Sick of waiting a day and a half for simple answers. I’m ready to walk up to the person, ask the question, and stand there until I get an answer.

And I’m more than ready to stop sitting in zoom meetings and watching people deal with their kids. Men are the worst. We are expected to smile through the interruption, AND praise them for being awesome dads.

Nope. Done.

“you people wear me out. I went into the office 5 days a week/8 hours a day, my wife did too, and we survived.”

I “survived”, too. That doesn’t mean that it was the right thing to do. Companies have proven that being physically present in an office isn’t the only way to complete work and complete deliverables. I would have given anything to have the flexibility to be a better single parent for my kid!
Don’t you want better for the next generation? I do!

@b7+1jm0b2p8e, it's not that simple. In order to play toxic politics and become highly successful, you have to be absolutely cold-blooded and have zero empathy for others. According to psychologists, most of CEOs are psychopaths. Go ahead and Google it, you can find many studies and researches on this particular subject.

"There’s a reason he’s where he’s at. He works very, very hard and has for decades."
Yeah, ok, good for them.
But, when you listen to them talk about themselves, they all sound the same.
Q. What to you do in your spare time?
A. Reading journals, cooking, walking, listening to music, etc.
They don't talk about sports, hobbies, you know, the sh-t we all talk about and are actively involved in.
It's because they don't do any of that. Because they can't. No time.

Jamie Dimon unleashes on work-from-home staff in expletive-ridden call.
In a recording reviewed by Reuters, Dimon said:
'Don’t waste time on it. I don’t care how many people sign that f** petition.'

First, you don't blaspheme the name of God like he does continuously and get away with it. I don't care how much money he has.
Second, we're not all trying to be CEO's in life. This is what really bothered me about our CEO's statement about RTO when asked about it, maybe a couple of months ago. He said something like, if you're not in the office, how can you succeed and get promotions? Look at me? How could I be CEO and not come into the office? It's a ridiculous premise. There are many people that studied hard and worked hard but do love life outside of work. Some of us want to work hard and do a great job, be proud of a job well done, make a decent paycheck, but also spend time making a difference in our children's life, our spouse's life, our community, and our church if we choose. It's not the 1970's anymore. Let's pretend we can use the technology we have.

And you’re an imbecile Jamie. Apparently the bloom is off the rose. Instead of being a leader who delegates to a trusted team you are… a dysfunctional control freak.

I suspect your $40MM in ‘24 would have been little different regardless of your hours. But the same could be said of many of your salaried staff. And you expect 7 days is model behavior?
