Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Have Multiple Interviews Coming + Upcoming Laoffs

Only been a short time here. With all the nonsense about return to work, layoffs, my boss telling me that he is going to run me hard and stankey saying 2/3 will be gone in 4 years.

There will be more layoffs in March. Thanks but no thanks.

I advise everyone to get out now.

"80 something weeks of pay severance works for me."
They cap it at 6 months of pay I believe

If they want to do the sensible thing, open up volunteers to be layed off. So simple but nothing our executives makes sense. That's why I'm simply doing enough to get bye.
They created the mess, I'm just going with their "rules".

Doing the same. We’ve lost so many good people the past couple months it’s crazy. I’m definitely not sticking around to deal with the fallout that’s coming.

"That was for the number of central offices, not total number of employees. Headcount is not going to be 50k by 2029."

You are probably right but frankly who cares. I do know its been repeated in articles that AT&T wants to get the headcount down to at least Verizon levels.

Regardless, this company eats it. I have been in multiple industries and many companies. This is by far the worst I have ever seen with the attitude of management.

This sounds right. That is the year we will have 50M HHP/Businesses passed.

Looking for that surplus in 4 years, will have 29 years. 80 something weeks of pay severance works for me. Hope OP is right. But if your not in that scenario, you may be skewered.

Your instincts are dead-on. Don't get stuck here and let the job market pass you by. Get out if you can.
