Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Out on short term medical leave and did not get bonus paid today - is that normal?

Many years ago when I was out on maternity leave, my bonus was still paid like normal while I was out on leave. Have things changed and they don’t pay until you return or is this a sign that I’m not getting a bonus?

@OP - sorry to hear your condition. Discuss with HR and they will give you the formal response.

@ax+1jm2yw1n6 that's inaccurate. Bonus is for 2024. Depending on how much of 2024 OP attended and performed the work, s/he may/may not get bonus.

I agree OP, I would love to give any of these folks my cancer, colostomy, chemo, and 2 more scheduled surgeries that keep me from working. On STD currently and I'm getting paid by my state and WF. I had to text my manager to ask if I qualified for a bonus and she gave me the info then. Mine wa paid out last Friday so if you have a decent relationship with your manager, I would start there. Good luck with your cancer treatments!

You guys are terrible. I hope you never need disability. Unfortunately I’ve legitimately had more than my share with a cancer diagnosis. I would gladly give the cancer back and skip disability and leaves.

So, if you are out for a medical event your bonus reduced/eliminated based on what I am reading. If bonuses in future years are calculated with prior year as a base then a medical event creates a long term bonus impact. That really isn’t ok!

If out on long term leave I do calculate my employees bonuses based on what percentage of the year they were working and how they did. As someone mentioned Insurance is paying you while out on leave. I gave no bonus to someone who was out 10 months of the year. They objected but I explained that bonuses are performance based rewards.

y'all who are ragging on disability and leaves are just flaming a__holes.

Someday you or one of your loved ones will know what it means to be unable to work. I hope you are shown more compassion and empathy than you are capable of.

Every benefit, including your paycheck, can be defrauded somehow. Pretty evident by reading this board that there are a lot of employees pretending to work.

Disagree. Short term disability su-ks and hurts the business. More people milk it than not. Glad we’re finally getting back into a capitalism society.

I was out on leave in the past for just a month. When I came back I had to request access to all of the systems like a new employee. I did get my bonus normally but I was no longer on leave at that time. I would call HR. Some messages in this thread shows no empathy. Accidents can happen to anyone and the short term disability is a good benefit.

I’m on parental leave right now and got my bonus paid as expected. I’d reach out to HR!

Have you never managed or worked with someone on medical leave? They’re the most entitled bunch of people you’ll ever meet, right next to DEI people

Seriously, if you're on medical leave, why would you get a bonus?

I thought bonus was a performance-based reward. Did you accomplish something at work during your leave?

You don’t deserve any kind of bonus or even merit increase if you’re taking 8 days a month of FMLA. Holy Christ that is a lot of loa. Would hate to be your team member.

Hopefully split up among your teammates that are handling the extra work

I actually know the answer!!!
When you are out on short term you're being paid by Lincoln financial, NOT wells. Lincoln wouldn't pay your bonus.
I think you'll get it when you return but you can call HR to confirm.

I’ve had intermittent FMLA for 8 consecutive years now (can take up for 8 days per month).

JFC how many times have you been out on leave?

I’ve been out on leave so no review discussions. I did just get the formal letter that my leave was approved under FMLA so wondering if that was why, but honestly starting to think they aren’t giving me one.

Nobody gets bonus’ while out on LOA. STD is limited to right around 66% of your reg pay. If you are termed while out on loa you won’t get a bonus. Didn’t time that very well for your “sickness” did you?

Wouldn't be too surprised if you haven't had a EOY review discussion and a bonus-specific discussion.
