Anyone else struck at how job titles that have been assigned in the last couple years manage to both be comically wordy and not shed any light on what tasks the person performs? I would understand if maybe the wordiness was successful in specifying what each employee did…but they managed to make things even vaguer in the bargain.

The job titles match the over complicated job descriptions.

Don’t forget, Senior lead business execution consultant stooge. Try fitting all that on a business card and on one line.
Lead Business Execution Consultant
That's the sweet spot. That's the role that will get you the most money for the least amount of work (unless you're doing it wrong). You'll get paid to attend meetings and paste things into PowerPoint. That's basically it.
Above and below that title, you're either working too hard, and/or not making enough money.
That job title once again is Lead Business Execution Consultant.
More to the OP's point, the reason for the vagueness is that it leaves the door open for incompetent managers to assign you work that they shouldn't assign you. No one knows how to plan anything at Wells, so managers need warm bodies to assign mindless tasks to.
My next role at Wells, however, will be that of a manager. I've been here long enough to see that there's nothing to worry about in terms of not knowing what you're doing.
