United Healthcare voluntary resignation

UHG is out here pushing voluntary resignations instead of owning up to a mass layoff, and they won’t even let us talk to our supervisors about it. They’re keeping everything hush-hush, leaving employees in the dark while they try to make this look like anything other than what it really is—corporate cost-cutting at our expense. Instead of transparency, we get vague meeting and pressure to ‘consider our options,’ all while leadership dodges real conversations. They don’t care about our livelihoods, just their bottom line. They are also avoiding negative publicity knowing very well Mass layoffs can damage a company’s reputation, impacting investor confidence, brand perception, and even future hiring efforts. A wave of voluntary resignations looks less like financial distress. SO INVESTORS BE WARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unemployment in California may still be a viable option after taking the severance. The stress of this waiting game and given the media blitz, stress is definitely a viable reason. Play this system the way it's playing us. I'm taking the resignation and will be following for unemployment after the 7 weeks. Tired of waking up 3 hours early to stress about something that I can't control.

Well stock dropped 24 dollars a share on this news so they lost some money there- its bad pr all around this company has really gone downhill over the years its sad

I am outraged. This feels like a slap in the face. When I had the meeting, my leadership tried to tell us it wasn't anything negative and then went on to talk about the VRSP. Not negative for whom? Because that doesn't sound like a positive for anyone but the top of the chain. I'll be sticking it out as long as I can but also job searching just in case. I just can't wrap my head around this.

Four extra weeks of severance might be worth it for higher paid employees in states where unemplyment is capped and is just a small % of their salary. IF - they were unhappy or planning on changing jobs, or ones within a few months of retiring.

So I'm in E&I Ops, apparently I'm not qualified to take buyout anyway, 8 years of working there. Mark read from a question card then hung up. We all need to reach out to Aaron Parnas on social media give thos some publicity he'll do it... More bad exposure for a company we were dedicated too & just like that here we are. It was there money mismanagement- they can take that to the f----- bank

I've been a loyal customer for many years. I received my Jan bill on Jan 25 and I immediately paid it via US mail. Today, Feb 16th, I received a bill for Feb and March, it said my Feb payment was late [ but I've never received a Feb bill ] and the statement threatened to cancel my insurance and not pay my medical bills if it wasn't immediately paid. I always pay my bills on the next day after I receive them. I have a credit rating of 823. [ The highest you can get is 850. ] Is this poor customer service a product of UHC employee layoffs ? JS

Just got an email from my supervisor informing me of this. Wow. Given the recent tragedies, you would think that they would be more sensitive to the livelihood of people who are less fortunate than CEOs and directors. Absolutely disgusting to do it in such a despicable and cowardly way.

This is beyond stressful. 7 weeks of severance is a cop-out and they’re throwing us all under the bus. I guess I should have never trusted they’d choose people over profit. I won’t be volunteering for anything, they can lay me off and I can pursue unemployment insurance through my state. Also that meeting was absolutely terrible snd fear inducing and then they expect us to get back on the phones and do our jobs? Diabolical.

@anon it’s a not a better pay out based on your tenure if you were to get laid off your severance can be similar you can re apply for UHG with this you cannot apply for UHG for a year and you are not entitled to unemploymen. The only good thing is we know what’s on the horizon and we can be prepared. You think they would do anything to put more money in your pocket! Ha no and it’s one lump sum which is going to be taxed and for future employers a layoff is much better than a resignation. Weigh out everything for sure your situation could be much different from mine. But voluntary submitting a resignation seems like the easy way out for them.

Anyone that takes this is giving them an easy way out of large scale layoffs legal requirement under the warn act! Voluntary layoffs sidestep some of these legal complexities
