Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Massive layoffs at UHC

The insurance industry appears to be a huge mess, rumors of roughly 30k people being offered a buyout before the company does involuntary layoffs at UHC. 😬. I was just reading their thread it is terrible.

At the end of the Day, David, Noelle and the others in ELT do NOT need to make what they make. Cutting people that keep the lights on, innovate and put actual ideas in motion is due to ETL and some of SLT's pi-s poor management in past 7 plus years. Opening India and Ireland will save money in near term, but at cost of sc--wing the onshore employees, members, clients and providers. They throw HIH in our faces everyday and ask us to celebrate it with them. No more 12 hour days, no more weekends, no more calls and meetings on PTO. Wait to India and Ireland to come on line. HOPE I AM ON LIST TO SPARE SOMEONE ELSE'S JOB.

"Corporate america and the US and state governments employ a high census of over educated underachievers with no direct benefit to the bottom-line…"

Tell us you barely passed high school and have a low skill, low paying job as a result of your low intelligence without actually saying it.

You could make that general statement about most companies. We're a capitalist economy, greed is a feature. Offer me a job that does good and also pays enough to raise a family and I'd be happy to take it.

Don't blame the people trying to make a life, blame the people in corporate and government power who continually enable each other to move us closer and closer to a kleptocracy. The rest of us are just trying to survive and pursue a little happiness.

lol you people. You work for a greedy company that dictates healthcare in this country and which impacted many many lives and you feel no guilt collecting that paycheck and bonus.

Because owning a business is the same thing as running a Fortune 20 company or a Government department responsible for thousands or millions of people.

You have never owned a business and it shows.

"Perhaps". Looks like you know about as much as Musk's pi-ple-faced SWAT team. "Perhaps" is not a reason to fire people or destroy a program thousands of people depend on. They clearly have no clue what they're doing. They're just arbitrarily firing people without proof of anything. Of course, there's always fat to be trimmed but they're not doing that. They're firing valuable people and putting clueless figureheads in place at the top.

Cigna could use some trimming but it's mostly needed at the middle and senior management levels. If there are individual contributors not carrying their weight, that's the fault of their leadership. Set realistic expectations and goals and if they're not met, take action. Until that happens, the waste is on management.

LOL @ thinking Trump is going to do something to help a typical American. He's too busy signing off on firing government workers.

It's not just the insurance industry. Trump's going to give a huge tax cut to American businesses and after laying off tons of the workforce, those companies will be in a perfect place to reap the immediate rewards of less employees and more cash, actual product or service be damned.

Yep, and they're hiring heavily overseas, just like Cigna. Wish Trump would stop this sh-t instead of worrying about low skill manufacturing jobs.
