I'm about to resign but I wonder if they'll let me go as soon as I do. Has anyone given 2 weeks notice and been let go immediately? I'm in tech and trying to time it wisely

Give them 4 weeks notice and tell them you are going to a fully remote gig at BofA. Enjoy the time off.
I gave 2 weeks notice, hoping I would be let go. They let me work one more week and then I took PTO for the final week.
I’m a Branch Manager and recently gave notice because I received a position at a credit union, and my DM and Region President let me go immediately and are paying me out my 2 weeks. I didn’t even get a chance to say bye to my employees or customers…so sad after 10 years they treat me like that

love the advice to try out the new job for a couple weeks because one can easily determine long term happiness in a role after a couple weeks.
A great tip was given on giving the new job a test ride before quitting your current one. This can be done by using PTO or calling out on your current job while working the other.
I believe the policy says that if you are going to work at a competitor, they will let you go the day you give your 2 week notice and pay you those two weeks via the miscellaneous pay category.
new hack - just start the new job and call in sick to the old one. if the new job is great and everything is exactly as promised and nothing gets rescinded - only then quit the old one.
Gave my notice on Thursday…still working with the exception of my volunteer day and paid holiday….
Depends on how much system access you have and what level.
Had to work my whole two weeks
They will let you go if you are going to a competitor and will pay you for the full 2 weeks. Otherwise I’d plan on working those 2 weeks. If you leave before that you may not get hired back.
Guessing it all depends on what kind of work you do and the business need for handing it off to someone else. If you're work can easily be performed by your peers, they may just say you're done and pay you out the notice period.
