Unemployment in Texas

Can anyone confirm if you take the UHC severance package if you can get unemployment in Texas? I know every state is different but it does state you could get unemployment benefits if you quit due to no fault of your own.

Opinions?

I just talked to Texas workforce commission, and they literally said that if you take the voluntary severance package, you cannot apply for unemployment even after your severance is gone because it’s voluntary. They advised me to wait for the involuntary layoff..

If you take the voluntary resignation, no.

If you are involuntary laid off, you can receive unemployment AFTER the severance pays out.

Texas does not allow you to receive benefits while you are being paid severance.
