AT&T to lose FirstNet contract to Starlink/T-Mobile JV

Sent the better part if the last decade fighting to get police, fire and local governments to drop their Verizon mobile phones and switch to poorly designed FirstNet billing only to get word that Elon Musk is leveraging a combined T-Mobile / Starlink solution at a lower price with the target to take over the contract that AT&T has failed subscriber goals for several years.

This year we expect to add 500,000 FirstNet Subscriber Paid line, 3 police, 2 firefighters and 499,995 school bus drivers. We’ll have time to dodge the FCC since Trump would never, ever abuse his power to punish DE&I darling AT&T.

Elon, come up with a mobile phone that you sell at your own stores or websites and works only on Starlink, and you will put T and others out of business. Get on it man, people are waiting fir it

The Stink is pleased! With FirstNet gone, Toxic-T will go under, and the Stink will get a massive payoff!

Stink's plan is to stuff his bank account, no matter if the Employees, Shareholders and Customers get S C R E W E D!

"AT&T's FirstNet contract runs until 2043."

none of this matters anymore. (f)Elon's chainsaw is going crazy. All norms are chopped.

"AT&T's FirstNet contract runs until 2043."

I am sure there is no out clause for the government entities on a 20+ year contract . . .

AT&T's FirstNet contract runs until 2043. We also have a partnership with AST SpaceMobile to provide space based broadband. I'm not sure your headline has any basis in reality. Source?

T is going to lose a lot of business with the lack of leadership and poor service. Just watch. RTO was the final stab.

I hope so! FirstNet is a joke, band 14 is slow and Stanky is overcharging state and federal agencies. Let DOGE dig into the numbers and see how much the government pays T vs a Global business.

This cannot be true. Our esteemed bleeders continue to assure us that Starlink is not a competitor.
