@1Zmww That and she is a “legacy.” No different from the UT and TexasTech frat houses.

If you are gonna sit around lose sleep and resent others being promoted without merit or competence I suggest that you not only get out of O&G, but get out of any major with virtually any industry including tech, that's even worse. You need to learn to live with it and go ahead on with your business, that's been happening forever, even before the D&I trend, just the same thing, with different reasoning behind it.

How is it possible that we still can’t get rid of MB? Toxic and incompetent

I think it’s hilarious that someone thinks MW cares about real estate.

Had no idea that GL is MB's brother. That explains some of the unqualified ladder climbing.

The biggest issue I have with MB is that her incompetence and temperament have led us to the current mess, but even if she goes off into the sunset after CEMREC is dissolved, she’ll be just fine. It’s the rest if us who don’t have her millions who will be left to deal with the aftermath of her poor performance. Honestly, she gives female leaders a bad name. Very disappointing.

OMG I didn't realize the old CNAEP boss, GL, was MB's older brother. Holy cow! He was a nice guy (when he wasn't mad) but he must have let some secrets slip to sis who now uses them to get promoted. Terrible situation. The horrible, horrible old head of another OpCo also had a really d-mb brother in the company.

GL is MB's brother... and RK was the old east regional Manager and is still there.

Having trouble figuring out GL & RK … CEMREC folks?

The person initially picked to lead CEMREC was from GOM then went to lead SJV instead of leading CEMREC. MB was an interim and only stayed because of her protected status. MB's lack of leadership and ability to manage a BU left families without loved ones. That is on MB, CVX leadership and GL. As for any leaders left that know real estate, only RK comes to mind now that AG is gone. DC leaving was a good result. He had great CBRES knowledge but was not a good leader and did not back his employees. He was never there for them when they needed him but took the credit when they succeeded, and I am speaking from personal experience as I worked for him. We lost good field EEs in alpha and great leaders in the CEMREC integration. If AG ever came back, I would work for him. He was screwed over in the CEMREC integration as he and RK should have been LT members. Maybe if MB did not cave to CVX leaders pushing her to take on must moves and keeping ML around after 50 years and gave CBRES leaders a chance we would not be here today. Regardless of what happens, MW DOES finally care about RE now, but DOES NOT trust CBRES, so he will assemble special teams for anything important like he did with the SR sale. So it really does not matter who becomes the CBRES leader as long as they are competent enough to keep the SIF at zero, something MB failed to do. I just hope we get someone that keeps CBRES intact so more of my hard-working colleagues don't get let go.

Is the person that was suppose to get MB's job still at Chevron or were they pushed out the door?

I can’t recall the guy’s name so can’t confirm if he is still here but at the time MB was selected as his replacement it was because he got a picked for a better position in CVX.

MB fit a quota, if you know what I mean, so was good for optics, despite her abysmal lack of qualifications and truly deplorable conduct with anyone below her on the food chain. Too many examples to list here and just don’t care at this point since what’s done is done, but it’s really unfortunate that things went this way, and now the lower food chain is paying.

  1. Is the person that was suppose to get MB's job still at Chevron or were they pushed out the door.
  2. As for the comment “Let a qualified leader sort this out”, there is nobody left in CEMREC that is qualified / has real knowledge about real estate / facilities management that I can think of. If anyone disagrees, let me know.
  3. I was on the first MB call and many calls afterwards. She never was able to build a cohesive, collaborative spirit within the group. What did not help is her reputation in her previous CVX group that pushed her out.

“Let a qualified leader sort this out”

Yes! And we can all agree that MB is sure as heck not that when it comes to real estate and facility management. She wasn’t even the first choice for the role but we got stuck with her. Who here remembers the dumpster fire of a call after they announced the new CEMREC with her at the helm where she tried to justify her selection. I felt embarrassed for her, knowing she wasn’t who we were supposed to get, and she has only proved my initial assessment of her ineptitude over the past 4 years. Does any of this really matter, though? She still walks away with millions, while the rest of us will either be laid off or dumped somewhere else in CVX. Someone else mentioned karma, and i also really hope at some point that catches up to some of these people who don’t even flinch as they flush our livelihood down the drain.

Best course of action would be to put MB out to pasture and let a qualified leader sort out this dumpster fire.

AG is who primarily determined who would remain in the new org. Most of people who remained from CBRES all worked for him in some capacity. Anyone who did not was pretty much let go. After making the decisions he left, he knew then what was going to happen. CVX needs to finish the outsourcing.

MB doesn’t like real estate so she has run everyone off and will outsource it now.

@4cab+1jmkK8pX DD and MB setting up a real estate organization was a joke. DD would support anything MB wanted to do and she knew (and knows) nothing about real estate.
DC being let go is the perfect example of what's wrong with the company. There is zero regard for business knowledge or talent. It's about metrics and optics. Results don't matter.

How? DD’s doing with complicity from MB. They pushed out DC, AG took his place then rather mysteriously left less than a year post transformation and DD retired with a nice heftypackage. That’s where we’re at

How did CEMREC end up with an LT that has no real estate or facility management experts whatsoever? And we’re shocked that CEMREC is failing? This is what happens when we absolve ourselves of accountability when designing an org and blindly trust consultants. What we allowed BCG to do to us back in 2018 is the root cause of the mess we’re in now. Where does the buck stop for the decisions made that completely destroyed morale and gained us nothing? From now on, we should have names and signatures of DEs on every org structure change and revisit those decisions after 1.5 to 2 years.

@2oje+1jmkK8pX CBRES and EMC had no business being combined. After doing so, they put people in jobs that had no business being in that particular job. In other words they did it "The Chevron Way."

We combined environmental and building services to form CEMREC. Decoupling is what is happening. How much did we pay a consultant to recommend we combine and now go back to the way things were? When you have money to burn!
