“ And your off payroll email will follow soon after so, don’t spend all that bonus in one place. If you do manage to escape this layoff, you now have the privilege of RTO and spending your raise/bonus on fuel, vehicle maintenance, food, water and other needs. Stanky’s layoffs are never ending for any long term employees so, it’s only a matter of time!”

I literally have a 12 minute commute so not too worried about gas and vehicle maintenance. I don’t spend on eating out because that is just stupid. I have survived 27 years of layoffs, have a fully vested 27 year pension and very healthy 401k. Oh, and I am debt free so yeah like I said it’s going great.

“Yearly wage increase is just one of the multitude of benefits. Ask any manager below the c suite how it’s working out for them.”

It’s working out great. A 23k bonus is hitting my account in 2 weeks along with a 5.4% pay raise.

Yearly wage increase is just one of the multitude of benefits. Ask any manager below the c suite how it’s working out for them. No system is perfect but union has negotiated for job securities and severance whenever there is an involuntary downsizing. That’s after exhausting all the other stay on the payroll options. Ask Comcast and other non union labor forces how it’s working out for them.

“ SE CWA contract states they can continue taking dues for 1 year after you pass away!”

If only the company kept paying since it comes out of paychecks.

Canceling the membership gets you nothing. You still live by the contract they negotiate, live by the rules in place in the contract. All you get is good luck when you have a discipline issue or disagreement with the company.

Specialists and analysts all have a chance to get unionized because technically they are not management positions.

How can the managers get unionized?

Once hired, it's tricky to fire the union but not too difficult.

Read your contract, it has instructions to fire the union.

There are dates that must be adhered to, one is a window that the written request must be postmarked, usually a 2 week window. The other window is also usually a 2 week window that the request must be received by the union, this makes sending it "return receipt requested" mandatory so you have proof.

It's in your contract, the dates are all different depending on which contract you are under, but you have to look hard, there is not a separate section in big bold letters stating "how to fire your union".
