Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

"Average Hours" component of the Presence Reporting

The far majority of folks had no visibility to this until last week, hence the big uproar everywhere once people realized the report was nowhere near accurate. It was taken down late Thu/ early Fri and has not been restored as of yet.

In townhalls over the last few months leading up to the 5 days per week mandate--- all executives have been vocal about their concerns that employees are not working 8 hours a day.

What do you think they were basing this unfounded concern on? It's pretty clear.

Now- to be fair...was there coffee badging going on? Sure.

Were some people just ignoring the RTO edict? Sure.

If you're a "leader"...what you do though, is that you deal with, and look closer at THOSE people.

You don't make sweeping mandates for your ENTIRE workforce based on flawed reporting, with the insinuation that NO ONE is giving you 40 hours a week.

That's the type of thing that will backfire on you, eroding even the smallest amount of trust that may have remained between you and your workforce.

Leadership is DESPISED.

When is the next culture survey?

This whole thing is a joke. Forget employee surveys. Your responses and verbatim are buried. They’ll cook the numbers and publish something shiney just to shut us up. They’re just stalling for a year or so to hopefully let the venom simmer a little. With this presence report debacle and now that it is completely inaccurate (mine from two weeks ago was wrong each day), then the attitude towards this cr-ppy leadership is only getting worse, regardless of the 52-week high. I’ve never been more disappointed in this company over 30 years - and that’s saying something considering all the fumbles these leaders and Board have committed through the years.

There is real data available but the numbskulls don’t use it.

Parking Deck swipes, building access swipes, AT&T floor swipes, Wifi and LAN logins, emails being sent, swiping to go to the bathroom, swiping to leave the garage, remote PC logins, the ability to say I was at Career Day for an exception, or had COVID WFH, etc.

Show me my swipe/ankle monitor and logon data and I’ll calculate it for you. Also you can reclass me as hourly vs. salary and owe me a 20% untaxed annual pay increase for OT.

Take advantage of this time to WFH or reduce hours and blame the broken presence report.

" I am now taking pictures of my screen with the network name and time/date to show when I get in and leave. This is absolutely insane"

They'd have you believe this is perfectly normal. You kind of get beaten down here after a while when the hits just keep coming, and almost start to feel as if it's normal yourself.

When I describe what is going on here to external friends and family, they are in disbelief.

The ankle bracelet jokes are common, but really, have far away are we from that?

And why not just do it if you can't otherwise get accurate data?

The hours do not track properly on purpose as a fear tactic to make you stay 9-10 hours rather than 8. If you don’t call it out it won’t be fixed.

Every single day of the week is incorrect for me for last week on the broken average hours report. I wonder if there was a glitch of sorts? Or data still hasn’t updated all the way?

"Correct. Mine used to be mainly right in the mornings. I get here between 4:30-5. But the leave time is always wrong. But within February it showed start time at 6:30am. And now last few are 8:30 am. Leave times still all wrong. One day showed 1.5 hours. All of which have now made me non compliant! These people can fkkk off and die."

Same. They are now not recognizing early risers. It is core hours, 8-4pm which is bullsh-t. They claim flexibility but apparently beginning work at 7am is not allowed. JFC T is full of clowns.

Explain how I can send an email to myself from the LAN on 2/19 at 6:29 AM and 3:00 PM yet show 7-2:30 on the report.

The report is up and it is way off for me. I am now taking pictures of my screen with the network name and time/date to show when I get in and leave. This is absolutely insane.

I worked 28 days and am shorted 59 hours. What’s the point of working 8 when I get credit for only 6?

" I believe it is a different link. It is under 'employee details'. Your UID is pre populated."

Thanks for the feedback.. It isn't though. Blank and no way to enter UID. Info was def there last week before they pulled it back.

I am actively starting to hate working here, and I have NEVER felt that way before. I spent a good chunk of my weekend worrying about what new garbage this cr-p "leadership" team is going to come up with this week. We work at a company where the leadership clearly hates their workers and it really shows.

I’ve been tracking my time down to the minute. Hours reported in office is incorrect. Is it grossly off? No, not for me, but enough off to put me being under. Remember even 7.9 is not meeting the minimum is what my boss told me. Took everything I had not to lose it. Ok, well, what about the night and weekend work I have to do regularly? Oh, that doesn’t count? Ok, then don’t expect or ask for it anymore. You want nights and weekends, then the team needs to go to shifts, because 40 is what you expect, 8 per day (no exceptions). Nevermind the 60, 70, 80+ hr weeks I regularly work. I highly suggest you add headcount to cover those hours, won’t be me. Done.

They can’t make it right. How hard is it to create correct report in era of AI?
Well it is hard because people with the skills already left or were laid off. Good luck Stanley!!!

Yes but I’ve known this for months and it’s been repeated several times.

Yes they used bad data to create a false narrative of insubordination so they could mandate 5 days RTO

However, the bad data is irrelevant because this was one man’s poor decision, and that person was just promoted to Chairman.

In short, the board appreciates the Stanks efforts and we are all being put through h-e-l-l until the number of employees meet their desired count and the stock price rises.
