I reported discrimination to my manager then they yelled at me. Great company to work for.

Your manager was not the appropriate person to engage
We take trainings on this
@dx+1jmwvsdxm I bet you're a POS!
@op how were you discriminated against?
Let’s simplify this.
If you have an actionable claim of discrimination, you never, ever go to your manager first.
And in the current political climate you need to consider your state as federal enforcement is unlikely.
But, if you want to engage, export every piece of evidence you have, lawyer up and start that conversation. If you aren’t willing to leave and sue, you probably aren’t a good plaintiff or claimant.
That doesn’t mean you aren’t right. You just aren’t prepared to fight as you’d need to.
You may have a 100% valid reason. But nothing will happen to the manager. You just pack up and move and not give your manager any ammunition to use against you.
Wait till it’s an eeoc complaint
Also I followed sop so… any other comments about why I should have been discriminated against? No one should be discriminated against. Period.
Let me break it down for the trolls, I was being discriminated against. I then reported it to my manager. My manager yelled at me, they did not raise their voice, they yelled.
Just because your boss raised their voice doesn’t mean you were discriminated against. If this is the reason for reporting your boss you will likely run into a brick wall.
I bet you’re a white male that just su-ks at your job and trying to point blame for any reason at someone else why you’re being reprimanded for bad performance.
And talking to an attorney doesn’t m a you’re going to sue or anything. It just means you’re going to get some informed advice before potentially making a career limiting move.
For anyone reading this, please please please listen to me and consult an HR attorney / employment lawyer before you do anything like this. Being harassed, discriminated against, whatever it is, you have got to talk to a professional first before taking any action. It may cost you a few hundred bucks but it’s more than worth it.
Department of Labor and FINRA would be better places to air your grievances. Either way, probably won’t see much happen to help your situation. Sorry you are going through this.
Sounds like you might be new at the firm, if you report discrimination or mistreatment, things get worse. Sorry you had to learn that in this way, but hopefully you are better prepared for the future.
You cant report issues to management, this is why office politics has evolved to such a low level.
Was that before or after you took the non-retaliation pledge?
Retaliation will always come from reports like this.
I knew they were going to do this and have been preparing. My manager started assigning my things to other people without telling me about it. I also saw my manager make rounds to other managers immediately after it happened.
One of many reports of discrimination at fidelity I’m sure. Just know you might be blacklisted and may have a hard time moving around the company now, your BU has already heard about your report for sure. Hope you’re able to make your own exit rather than being forced or piped out.
