Are there any restrictions on new based at home contracts? E.g. you can’t be promoted, could be called in office at anytime etc?

Oh you may bet they'll be called back to office at some stage. I dont see how they wouldn't be promoted if deserved and successful but also wouldn't be surprised if they weren't.

It’s for employees in areas impacted by location strategy….. a chosen few will get based at home. Rumour is they come with significant drawbacks.
Take it and get told you have to go to the office, then you’ll lose the severance pay option
