Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

RTO

The Federal Government, like AT&T, employees are complaining about RTO. What is the big deal? I work here and have no problem RTO. What do these people have to hide? It is the “new norm” like it was before the C Virus. It is no change people. If it is a change for you, that is what life is all about. You will adapt. All in life is not “fair”.

You probably used asbestos in the past, why don't you keep using it now? Clearly you see no benefits for progress.

"OP, just so you know, TRUMP is our President now. You no longer have to live in fear of censorship. No need to call it the C Virus. Now about this RTO thing that you have no problem with. Now imagine you open your email tomorrow and it says you have to move or lose your job. You’re welcome d-mb$hit."

What if the email is from DOGE?
The cognitive dissonance is strong with this one.

Uh, maybe it’s the fact that they sandwich employees into a space that fits 2/3 of the people once they mandated 5x8, parking lots full and cars towed away when they park along the curb in outer regions of the lot, and 5x8 mandate w/o permanent seat assignments and no way to lock up equipment so can’t even go to a break room w/o risk of theft, and most locations don’t have a cafeteria with all of the above.

In 35 years I have never witnessed such a blow out in employee motivation and morale.

There was no RTO before covid. We were on a hybrid schedule. RTO is a product, post covid. I have been working a hybrid schedule 20 years, and several of those years was completely remote since my boss was not in the same city I was so he did not care about where I worked. All he cared about was my getting my work done in a timely and accurate manner, which I did. So, OP, GFY.

The only people who actually want to return to the office are the people who work is all they have in life and they HAVE to be in an office to feel fulfilled.

Talk to your supervisor if you have an issue with RTO.

Everything is not fair people. Just follow the rules from our boss Mr. Stankey. I am sure your immediate supervisor has told you this as well.
