They've had 2 years to resolve seating and space issues, and it is still **cked beyond belief.

They can't get rid of you fast enough. That is the problem. I am sure as headcount is reduced further this year the problem will fix itself. Just hang in there...
Maybe after JS visit to Paramus will push him to fire whomever is responsible for stuffing everyone into BedM while Paramus has plenty of open spaces. Same issues exist in Atlanta and Carolinas where you have locations with 35% occupancies while people are struggling to find desk space in their assigned locations.
RTO and assigned seating aside, I need a suitable chair. I'll find a flat surface to work on.
Here’s how it works at ATT, I have no idea why these other groups even exist or what they actually do, it is so inefficient. Granted I’m not certified or specialized in any of these areas. None of these are what my job is.
GRE - tells me to find the property, reach out to owner, negotiate and sign the lease
Procurement - I have to find a vendor, reach out to vendor, negotiate the contract and pricing, then submit it into their systems
AP - again, I have to receive, process and manage all the invoices - then deal with the vendor because they can never be paid on time
Finance - oh don’t even get me started, you guessed it, I have to do all the accounting, tracking and reporting, send it up the chain to the bosses.
Legal - At least they review the contracts, then usually tell me xyz needs to be in there, but yeah, I then have to write it in the best I know how, I’m not an attorney.
I have never in my life worked with so many departments that don’t do anything that they should be doing. Hasn’t worked like that at any other company I’ve been in. It’s no wonder we don’t have parking, seats, etc…. There’s probably some admin person trying to figure out how to request those items and filling out the forms.
"Don't hate the boots on the ground, hate the people who should be paying for the boots."
Fk that! I sit on a floor with GRE in ATL. They have cherry picked seats for themselves and given the rest of us outside of GRE cr-p seats. Not only that, they have assigned 100% of their employees a spot, up to 32 head count. However, the rest of us were assigned 35 desks for 45 head count. To make matters even worse, only about 15 of the 32 people ever show up on a given day. So, FK GRE! And FK the GRESVP too!
"bring in your little tikes table, chair, sippy cup and get to work."
Actually, there is a guy that brings portable cube walls and sits at the lunch counter on our floor. He has been doing this for about 3 weeks.
"I've been sitting at a cafeteria style table and using a straight leg plastic chair for 5 weeks."
You have a lawsuit!
I personally know a few GRE folks. They're doing the best they can with no budget, no headcount, and little power to change anything.
They point the issues back at other departments because that's who is supposed to pay for the work. If neither department is funded to make changes nothing gets done.

Similar situation here. Never anticipated ergonomics taking me out of the game.
“Not just employees but managers. Managers are expected to be able to problem solve.”
Yeah, the f*ck1ng managers in GRE should problem solve for real estate and office facility issues. I’m a manager in Network CTO and I problem solve for Network Engineering issues.
You starting to see how this works you 1d10t?????
“How do you have more employees than seats?”
Not just employees but managers. Managers are expected to be able to problem solve.
The organization points to GRE.
GRE points to the organization.
What a vicious cycle.
ha ha you actually think they are trying to fix it.
zero chance
stank would rather all of us suffer or leave before he will authorize a dime to fix anything that isn't in his downtown dallas building
bring in your little tikes table, chair, sippy cup and get to work.
Su-k it up buttercups
What GRE? Hardly anyone left in that org. They all got laid off.
Stinky
does
not
care.
This shouldn’t be legal. How do you have more employees than seats?
I've been sitting at a cafeteria style table and using a straight leg plastic chair for 5 weeks. My neck is shot and I think I have a pinched nerve near my right shoulder blade. I usually run 6-8 miles on Saturday and Sunday, but I hobble like an old man heading to my car after work. I give GRE a FAIL.
Yeah, a lot of people are on vacation or sick.
They're are doing as they have been instructed. According to our VP, the corporation will only have enough seating for 70% of the employees assigned to that space, "the industry standard".
