Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

AT&T Layoff

When is Stankey going to layoff the dept. of (D)ivision (E)xclusion
(I)n-fighting? AT&T has govt. contracts like First Net, etc..

As Secretary of State, Rubio just stated in an interview. This is an interpretation of what he said. I’m in the right country, I was selected on meritocracy not because I’m Hispanic. We need the best and most competent and not be divided by DEI which selects individuals based on what box they check but exclude others because they can’t check any box. In other-words the best person for the position wouldn’t be selected based on a discriminatory system, ie. FAA Flight Controllers

The country is going back to the white man. That’s just wonderful for the rest of us. Feels like we are stepping back in time to the 1960’s.

Common sense is returning to the country, identity practices are on life support and the bureaucrats are finally being audited. Companies now won’t be forced to bend to DEI and ESG mandates but those who were activist will now have to course correct of suffer the consequences.

Trump just called out Apple. Bondi just sent letters to states as a warning.

I guarantee you ATT folds very soon. No doubt about it.

Or, they can suffer the consequences of being a stupid left wing corporation and lose in court.

Either way I’d be very happy.

Layoffs occur every month of the year at T. At least they have in my 30 years of working here.

There are multiple groups you're not allowed to criticize. But, as for the one you claim we're not allowed to criticize: are you really going to lump your coworkers from that demographic in with George Soros?

“ From affirmative action to DEI, what’s the next iteration of discriminatory practices? Only those that benefit are ok with it, how ironic.”

I think the number one target for layoffs will be the people complaining on RTO. AT&T has its hands full handling this alone. There's no time for DEI these days.

“ By law, you cannot target the DEI protected class.”

You mean an (artificially) propped up ‘class’.

By law you can’t discriminate based on race, s-x or gender either but DEI does.

I agree with the previous post about being the best you and everyone matters. A lot of Techs put themselves and their families at risk during the pandemic in service for others who were blessed to be able to quarantine at home. I installed and maintained the network for our residential and business customers during Covid. I was worried everyday I came home because my family has medical challenges and catching it could have been fatal for them. I could have gotten accommodation but I and they felt it was my duty to serve people that were forced to work and school their kids from home due to the scourge of humanity.

I received a token coin from AT&T thanking me for my service, wasn’t looking for a monetary reward but I thought there should have been much more of an emphasis on those who were boots on the ground and the tip of the spear during those very challenging times. The token became instantly meaningless once I saw that people that were able to WFH the whole time received the same token. Now those same people who had that privilege are screaming about RTO, I understand those that were virtual before Covid but that is a minority. Forgive me if I don’t shed a tear for those who didn’t have a WFH destination previously.
