How about that great sabbatical? Sure you get paid while off. But, your bonus is prorated for the amount of time you’re off. And then it’s NOT brought back to the baseline level it was before the sabbatical. I wonder if the bank tracks all that $$ they take back from this?

It's in the agreement. The bad part is likely the bonus pool for next year will be based off your bonus comp for this year as well. This is why so many people retire after their sabbatical, which is what they are pushing for.
Why on Earth you'd expect otherwise is completely beyond me.
HOW long have you worked here? You know what happens when you come back from leave!
They left most of my work for me to complete when I got back, so I got a prorated bonus for working extra hours and doing the same amount of work. I knew they were going to reduce it, but still, it was demoralizing.
LOL, Gotta read the fine print for everything unfortunately.
@a8+1jn46a417 - it wasn't for at least two of my colleagues -- in separate years who took their sabbaticals 2 years apart.
they blame "bad year", "expenses too high", "everyone is down", same b.s. excuses we all hear so they get out of restoring it.
Nothing is "free", bro.
This company is one big SHLITHOLE!!!!
It was in the fine print that you agreed to.
So petty and a bad look. Here’s a reward for you but we going to penalize you for taking it
The same thing happens if you have to take off for medical reasons.
Everything the bank supposedly "gives" you comes with a catch/condition/caveat/asterisk. Whether it be the sabbatical, "Sharing Success" RSUs, or whatever. It's never as generous as they make it out to be.
Are you sure bonus is not brought back to baseline the following year (as in have you personally experienced it)? I'm asking as the original fact sheet says that it is.

"I wonder if the bank tracks all that $$ they take back from this?"
See that little sensor near the sign that says "restrooms this way?"
What don't they track?
All smoke and mirrors with this company.
Ya'll are getting bonuses??
