Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

DOGE are on to IRM

IRM are being asked to put down 5 bullets documenting their accomplishments this week. One actual response below:

  1. papered over contradictory policies by drafting a new policy that will create 20 jobs in risk function. 150 roles will also be created to test policy compliance
  1. took the initiative to make up a duplicative assessment by plagiarising other assessments. Added the word “independent” in the title to justify this BS piece of work
  1. started a wild goose investigation to save face in a baseless escalation initiated by a risk director
  1. paraphrased legal texts into gibberish MCRs without wasting time on understanding our business.
  1. the week isnt over yet. will create a firedrill just before eod Friday for frontline to think of something so we can get this request over the line

@ff+1jn4fmkqj & @em+1jn4fmkqj thank you for your honesty to acknowledge corporate risk function is just a useless and redundant bureaucracy. It is truly heartbreaking to see your sparkle in this ocean of hypocrisy and self-righteousness. The right thing for the company is to eliminate this wasteful and toxic function. I would urge you to seek gainful employment in other areas of the bank where you can do honest, productive and fulfilling work rather than wasting your good years living among the rats. waiting for the cleaver to fall. All the best.

Don’t forget, spent hours reviewing the India teams “findings” on Issues and explaining why they found nothing important but you reviewed it and the corrective action doesn’t actually solve the problem, trained the control team on how to use veritas and what change management is, explained to the front line why early escalation of operational risk events is required and forced to cover up that the increase of wire mistakes is because we outsourced it to people who can barely understand our language (much less execute on the procedures). And of course escalating real problems to mid level managers who shut it down from reaching the precious and oh so sensitive executive ears where they will have to admit that instead of investing in technology to actually solve our problems, we create a bunch of QA jobs in India that don’t actually prevent anything from happening and instead create more risk. Yeah, we are tired too.

Dear OP, I am in IRM and what you are saying about us is sad and true but don't hate the players hate the game as you know that game comes from management. We know our jobs have morphed into BS. We want to do more and have the respect of the business but our management is not guiding us in that direction undermining any IC that strays off script. So justifiably in your eyes we ICs miss the boat and the ICs suffer for the lack of leadership. It is time to shake the entire org up. Top down. Maybe Flowers will do that with his recent hire? The IC does have responsibility for their own career but please focus the blame where it belongs and that is not on the IC that is simply doing as they are told.

Battles are lost by officers never by the troops. From what I see management can't figure out how to be effective so they spend their time in CYA mode, office politics and blaming the underlings.

Now excuse me while I continue working my resume and exit plan. 10 more years to retire

OP please be more specific. We want to triangulate who you are. Drop a set and tell us what group you are with so we can take you out for a cup of SFTU
