Under his leadership, Wells Fargo has been hit with billions in penalties, customer service is still a joke, and the bank’s reputation is about as trustworthy as a used car salesman with a nervous twitch.
For a guy who came in promising a turnaround, Scharf seems to be running Wells Fargo with the same level of urgency as a DMV clerk on their lunch break. The bank’s stock performance? Let’s just say if Wells Fargo invested in itself the way it “invested” in fake accounts, shareholders might actually be happy.
