Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

It may be a bit awkward situation, but...

Most of all, I would like to have a sincere conversation with my manager to express my concerns, that is, ask him if I might lose my job so I can take action. Maybe someone has already done that?

From all the comments, it is obvious, Intel policies are hopeless. Heads will keep rolling and eventually, some other company will gobble off different parts of Intel and straighten it out. Anyways, looking forward to the earnings release tomorrow. If Pat cuts the dividend, he needs to go.

1jgk+1jnAkMyu - that exact same cult behavior is shown by white managers too, especially the ones with country background. Go check in GSC

It is filled with all incompetent white managers with fully white incompetent high school educated employees. Also these managers target Indians to save the jobs of their white cult.

: @1pql+1jnAkMyu - your opinion is low IQ and completely uneducated. Typical racist mentality you are showing. White people just cannot take responsibility for their mistakes they want to push the blame on to people of color ? Every Intel CEO has been white and yet you want to blame people of color ?

Indians are exceptionally hardworking and give in 2x 3x times a white employee puts in to make the same pay check.

Indians practice very good hygiene standards much better than white people. white people stink more with all their insecurities and double standards.

Indians have launched space shuttles on moon, mars - please educate your ignorant self

India was the wealthiest country in the 16th century and was looted over 300 years by white people , leaving it economically drained.

Native American populations were wiped out by the diseases brought over by white people. You guys are not as hygienic as you pretend to be.

Any good manager will try to protect his or her team as best as they should. They should also be frank and have candid 1:1 conversations. After the last quarterly results, Intel management should have been upfront with employees. Though, most employees have seen the writing on the wall.

Irn- I don’t know what makes you think Indians are protected. It must be your insecurity.

When ACT happened the white manager targeted all Indians in his group. He was trying to fire young Indians to save jobs if white oldies that had met the rule of 75.

I don’t agree that Indians are sinking the company, look at google , Microsoft CEOs they are Indian and are doing way better job than white Pat Gelsinger.

So please stop scapegoating people of color to cover up the mistakes of white people

Ps- I am neither Indian nor white

Will NCGs will be bottom of the ROI list as most are under training and not contributed much?

INDIANs will dodge the layoffs bc they have protection through the Indian mafia. USELESS HR will dodge the bullets, eventhough they add no value to the bottom line. This is why InHell is losing to their competitors bc of these stupid power points as opposed to real design work. InHell still preach leadership?

JOI ranking?

The Peter Principle is strong at Intel, I don’t think ROI applies to managers there.

Of all the managers I had during my tenure at Intel, and there was a lot, only one was decent and their climb to the top was well earned and deserved.

What would the ROI ranking be of managers ?

Basically manager can decide whom to fire without performance matrix. Corrupt managers at intel will fire employees who are outside from their caste, village or friend circle or friends' spouses. Again bad apples will survive and hard working ICs will be shown door.

ROI ranking... "return of investment" .. basically, what is the value of anything within the business and in this case what you as an employee bring to Intel and how do you rank or compare against your peers.

if you are the lower ROI person in your team, then when there is a need to cut a head or zbb(zero business budgeting) a project you are working on due to economic reasons you will be the first on the and then the next one in line in your team and so on based on the ROI value..

Unfortunately, just business since Intel is not running a charity.

I think they meant "ROI ranking". I suspect it means looking at your work output volume versus how much you cost, for everyone on the team. You don't want to be near the bottom of the list.

What is ROI racking

I did ask last night and got my answer. Nothing to do with performance but rather my ROI racking within my team.

Ask your manager and be open and let him\her know that you want to know sooner than later if you are affected so in that way you can be ready and get no surprises. Tell your manager that it will be also good for him\her to share sooner since this is also tough for them.

I survived various cut thru my years at Intel, so this was just a matter of when and my number got called this time .. Better this way so in that way you leave with something $$ rather than quitting on your own later on and get zero..

Nothing lasts forever so count your blessing if you are affected and move on to the next chapter in your life. Good luck friend!
