Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Experiencing high anxiety levels?

I don't know why, but I've never been more anxious than now that these cuts are around the corner. Also I have never been less productive. I barely manage to concentrate on my work. On the other hand, I think that getting laid off, despite everything, would bring me the long-awaited relief.

They have put themselves in a tight spot. Inform people now before the holidays? Wait 2 more agonizing months until after the holidays? Either way they get a black eye and p—d off employees.

@1vlq : "show me the $ baby" ?? I would not be so confident. my manager told me in confidence not to expect any lucrative packages. they will be bare minimum. if you have enough saved to retire, then good for you. but if not, be ready to file for unemployment or spend this week updating your resume and looking for a new job outside Intel.

OP, you are not alone. Hang in tight, whatever happens, it will pass soon.

If you get layed off, go some secluded and scream, curse, cry, or whatever else you need to do to release it all. But don’t spend forever. Don’t sulk. It’s poison inside of you. And this is not your fault. Let that s—t out and move on. You have work to do.

OP - are you not in friend circle of any manager at intel? If yes then why anxiety? You are safe.

Shoooow me the money baby!! My bags are ready.. It is payday time after many years of ridding the crazy train. I was informed this week by my manager (bless his soul for not making me wait) so now waiting the "official" comm.

Sure, it would have been nice to stays few more years and close in a better position but thanks God it was not before so all good. Count your blessing and move on!

Good luck everyone and please don't blow a gasket for this, it is not worth your health !

Because you haven't been through layoffs. Breathe. One door closes another will open.

I’ve been here through several rounds of this, maybe that why I’m not stressing much. It doesn’t help and it’s not worth it.

The writing is on the wall buddy

If this is how bad it is, you should be out actively interviewing for a new job right now

@tyt.. your comment is a lil s-xist and not inclusive .. women and other types have also right's so let's make sure there is diversity and a fair amount of equality on these cuts so we can all participate at the same level.. shame on you! :)

I have the problem of focusing on my work these days. This state of waiting makes me feel any technical work I am doing at the moment is pointless since it may not be needed in a few days' time. This period is terrible for everyone's morale...
