Everyday seems to be worse than the one before. The manager is disengaged and staff is just floundering. The Agile Transformation is a complete joke and then we have a DevOps podcaster like telling us how to develop software while the bird chirps in the cage next to her. I must be dreaming this…

The short answer is yes. The long answer is all talk, no action. You could play buzzword bingo with these people and win big.
I saw the 'bird lady' on some CDO call trying really hard to be some cool pod caster type and making us feel like we're work for some cool software development company while really we're a bank running a circus.

Lost the talent. Cutting expenses=cutting employees benefits. Off-shoring everything. Millions to executives + max bonus and raises. Not backfilling positions, dump additional work on existing employees while forcing RTO and re-calibration. Asset cap and no movement on consent order. Does that sound like a reciepe for success? It can, and will get worse.
Uhhhggg so hard to read this happening at so many other companies.

These talking heads keep their jobs while hundreds of talented IT workers get cut. They still haven’t realized the Silicone Valley methodologies worked because of a decade of cheap borrowing. It’s collapsing now.
The only thing these bearded T-shirt types “Disrupt” is your employment.

WF is in the business of cutting expenses and shrinking. Those are the worst possible circumstances to grow a career.
