Given that I've been overworked and under enormous pressure for a long time, I'm trying to imagine how it would be if I survive these cuts. It sure wouldn't be nice. Although it is a big challenge to be jobless again and starting from scratch, not being here anymore and severance pay sounds much nicer than actually staying in this company.

Clicking Yes on VSP was one of the best career decisions. I am better off in all respects. I remember Oct 2018 being so stressed about layoffs that I couldn’t enjoy halloween with my family. This year, my biggest worry is what costume to wear at my current employers halloween party. Life is too short. good luck.
Your reasoning is valid and your conclusion is correct. Life is too short to be miserable, and Verizon excels in the misery department. Having left I can tell you there are better options out there. Don’t look back if you choose to go. You will wonder why you didn’t do it sooner I promise.
