What is wrong with the leadership in CIB Markets

Just started back office role here about 8 months ago and have never encountered anything like it. Workloads and priorities shifting every two seconds, constant contradictions and technological breakdowns, lots of weird aggressive people. Anyone know why or if it's going to get better anytime soon?

@fh+1jnc9h8jm The worst thing CIB has done in Wells Fargo is to discharge from its re---m, without cause and without notice, its two old lumpy stools called MLP and SK.

Oh I can’t imagine why there’s disfunction?!? I mean have a problem… you can go to the BCM in Control, or Control governance (whatever the heck the do), COO, or the COO directs because they are always “too busy”, the business themselves, RAU owner, Control owner, Issue Owner, CA owner, and the list goes on and on. Don’t worry, they are all working on the exact same problem and won’t communicate to save their lives. Oh and the messaging is different depending on the person. Don’t get me started on what an absolute joy their old Control Executive is (was?)

Not sure why everyone ganging up on CIB control. Literally every piece of work gets thrown in their plate. Compliance messed something up? Control will fix it !!

Markets business was never properly setup. They can barely manage cash trades which is pathetic like CIB leadership. We should sell this business and focus on small loans and deposits that we know best.

CIB control is definitely weirdly aggressive if that's what Op is referring to and glad the old boss got put out to pasture but are the potential replacements any better?

@dd+1jnc9h8jm yes it is as pleasurable as having a root canal without anaesthesia. Not surprised their boss was a kicked out of CIB for being a useless dumpster.

I started in tech CCIBT about 11 months ago. I am having the same experience as you OP & it's been a nightmare for me as well. I don't think it's limited to any department.

CIB COO is not getting along with the new leader and will soon be departing to spend more time with the family.

CIB leadership is in complete shambles. The entire org from Shart down is focused solely on cutting costs and increasing their bogus efficiency rating. India and H1-B is key to that plan. It’s very simple and obvious to those who aren’t drinking the Kool-aid and open their eyes to the reality in front of them. Just look at our entire IT leadership (and even non-IT) it’s all Indian/hindu/caste nepotism gang. Others not welcome.

Is there a biz group that WON'T see significant leadership changes? Seems like it's a revolving door just about everywhere. I don't even bother reading org change emails anymore. Doesn't matter, next year it'll all be different anyway.

Don’t worry, can’t imagine the current leaders make it another year with the new CIB CEO off to the races. Have to think we will see significant turnover of the CIB business and CIB COO leadership. Overdue honestly, especially in markets where there should be huge upside. Although then priorities will shift again under those replacements.

Things company wide have been trending worse for years, so I wouldn't count on things getting better. I'm not CIB, but yeah, wouldn't count on it.
