Are workplace accommodations still being reviewed

Haven’t heard anything in a while, are employees still being reviewed yearly for workplace accommodation? Meaning, if you have one and it needs renewed or submitting for an accommodation? Seems a lot of the office building are cramming people in and space is few and far between.

Please don’t judge. Only God can be the judge.

My department had so many people when RTO happened in 2022. Most of these were for stress, anxiety or depression. We are hybrid, every other week in the office. Fall of last year, the accommodation people were having to come in a couple days. They were all complaining about how their accommodations are being reviewed. and phone calls they received questioning why they can't be in office. I think people taking advantage are going to be made to come back, or lose their job.

I have worked remote for over 15 years and have an accommodation. I have heard all are being reviewed even if you were previously approved as ongoing or permanent. I’m legally blind, if my accommodation was taken away I’m not sure how I would proceed.

If you can drive to the grocery store, to the gas station, or to a restaurant, you can drive to the office.

You can’t see history anymore because every year or 6 months you will be starting over again. You can’t leverage a prior authorization. You will need to repeat the process from the very beginning every year.

It will support your lawsuit when they displace you that when you sue you can show that even with your disability YOU TRIED. First question the judge will ask. You have no evidence but a dr note. Lots of Medicaid and SSA disability and VA disability Drs will write the note. Plus you won’t get your severance if you sue

They have to by law- Yes. But they can accommodate you in office. Noright to work from home sorry. The folks digging in with DR will have another dive. The only excuse i can see would be you are getting treatment for a cancer. When the treatment is over back in the office. Every company i have worked for Manufacturing or finance WFH is a TEMPORARY solution. It won’t let you keep your job

Question for the PTSD accommodation poster. What is the in office issue that triggers PTSD? Do you travel, do you go out to eat, do you go to movies, do you shop for food, do you do anything. Sorry but I don’t see anything with PTSD causing you not to be able to attend the office 1 or 2 days a week to show you tried and also to show specific examples on why being in the office is impossible. Right now you are thinking no specific examples. I would say you are probably not doing yourself and favors and there will be a round 2 of the remainder medical after they review with their lawyers to make sure they can support. WFH is not the first accommodation they could give you an office to work in once a week if you are afraid of people. The VA may believe you and fund a payment. Employment at will. Not WF problem and that will come through eventually. You have not beat the system yet.

They're reviewed alright, as they plot to get rid of you. I suppose it's not discrimination though, HY wants to get rid of all of us.

Yes, but just like ra-e allegations, people are diluting it for the true people with PTSD.

“Too many ‘I have ptsd/social anxiety” people taking advantage of remote.’”

Whether you like it or not, this is a disability. My work from home accommodation was just re-approved.

Will there actually be any federal enforcement mechanism to hold employers accountable to said law? A law can be on the books but if you gut the regulator that actually enforces it, it might as well not exist.

They are reviewing the WFH accommodations frequently. I doubt the in office accommodations are on the same cadence

Working here could give anyone PTSD based on the mo--nic policies alone.

Yes they are reviewing them. Both annual reviews and for those that never returned after COVID that didn’t have an accommodation prior. Those are requiring alot of documentation to be continued. Too many “ I have ptsd/social anxiety” people taking advantage of remote.
