Why did we lose two experienced people on our team and a guy who joined less than a year ago is still here? Can somebody please explain the logic behind it? Nothing against the guy, but seriously?

I can explain it. Harris, and now L3Harris, has a reputation for laying off senior level people and replacing them with junior level people, somehow believing that the junior level people can just take over the work with no training or experience. It is a stupid philosophy, but what else would you expect from a company that lays off hard working people who have a charge number?
That’s a good observation, though it su-ks fie the experienced people who got let go for no good reason. It’s the same reason the company has seemed to hire a lot more college graduates in recent years, instead of experienced hires. They’re much cheaper, they’ll stick around, and they’ll pay off in time.
Here is what I can say that I have experienced it. I showed up for work every day early and very rarely left early. Had great reviews when I was let go last year my manager did not know until the last minute and he was very upset. They kept two engineers one that watched tv through the day and now they are calling me to come back!!!!!! The upper management does not know what us peons know or work you are only a number! Will I go back hummm hard to say.
Well how about the division that laid off a number of recently hired people because they didn't want to pay severance if they laid off long time employees? I guess it can go both ways.
Maybe getting rid of 2 saved big bucks and keeping 1 underpaid and now work his a-s off!
How many in HR got laid off? Why are they still spending millions with Kearney Consulting?
Worked for other big A&D firms and this one is the worst.
maybe those "two experienced people" were not as experienced as you think....
"History of write-ups, verbal warnings, or a PIP. Also charging many IDL hours during the day and those working remotely or in a hybrid arrangement." Not true. Those targeted are often those who voice complaints and are not "yes" people.
I heard from management in Clifton that the layoffs were decided by HR, focusing on individuals with a history of write-ups, verbal warnings or a PIP. Also charging a high number of IDL hours during the day and those working remotely or in a hybrid arrangement.
That would explain why the people who made their bones ratting other people out were spared the layoff no matter how little work they did. They are rewarded with phony charge numbers so they can sit on their as--s. They will always have a job as long as they tell their supervisors who is doing what. We all know them by name don't we.
it is fortunate that age discrimination doesn't exist /s
Look at a manager the wrong way and you're gone. The bootblack and the submissive toadie are today's preferred employee.
Money. You're a piece of livestock. That's why they call it "human resource". The new guy costs less for doing the same job. Are you looking forward to training your replacement?
Depends on the skill sets and the dollar cost average of the employee.
Same over here. Probably salary reasons. I don’t know but it’s BS
It’s so sad and unfair that they do this
