Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

If you just complain here

about people leaving stuff on desks to “save” or “claim” a seat, you are a big part of the problem. Understood, most rational people want to avoid conflict. But when you say nothing, and do not challenge or report this, you are enabling the practice and you are justifying the flawed policy of no assigned seats.

Grow a pair and sit in that seat. Report the offenders to GRE, copy their bosses and your boss. Every single day if necessary.

If conflict arises, make sure everyone knows that you do not feel safe. Call the police if necessary.

Just be respectful to one another and find a seat. If everyone would pick a space and go to the same seat daily we would not have a problem. It does not have to be this hard. There is absolutely no reason for this chaos as it is manufactured to cause stress and dehumanize the employees. I have never seen such behavior in people as I have seen in recent times over seating and how people have talked to or about other employees as it is terrible and very sad. If someone has their things in an office then find another seat, claim it and go there daily and you may find someone will be as respectful towards you. We can all stop this craziness.

simple.use 2 hours every day to wheel in your own office furniture and cubicle partition.2 hours at the end of the day to wheel it out. get injured in the process.
