These e-cards seem a lot like DEI in a way.

If you think about it. It's not really so much about doing a great job, as it is sending a card saying someone did!

Agree. We really need to pivot on the ineffective appreciation junk. Times have changed. Many employees don’t care about it and would rather have that in their pocket not their stomach.
And get rid of the dead weight. THAT will increase employee satisfaction

When I was in mortgages they would do the same thing. They wanted us to send 5 ecards a week. I can only say thanks for doing the bare minimum in so many ways

Our GT org executives harass us frequently to send ecards to each other and even send us metric reports comparing us against other executive’s teams. It’s obvious they’re rewarded for this in some way…but not us peasants. They won’t give proper raises, bonuses, and instead give it to the top of the house.

Let them have e-cards!!

I once got in trouble for shouting on the floor, ”this company needs to take their E-cards and shove them up their A-holes!"

No one cares about receiving an e- card.

Executives have a goal of how many cards employees send to each other. They’re much too busy to even acknowledge our work but get bonuses based on us cheering each other up after low/no raise. F off.

No raises and told if you don’t like it maybe the bank is not the right place for you.

As a remote employee we don't get appreciated which is fine by me keep your pizza and ice cream and whatever 7 dollar grub hub credit you were going to give me. It's more a slap in the face than anything else

They are better off doing nothing. They certainly have no ability to "read the room". Lunches and things of that ilk only have an impact when you have an employee base who is generally happy/satisfied and being properly compensated in line with company results. But when you don't have that because you can't give raises with record profits...these dopey gestures come across as insulting and patronizing and move the employee satisfaction faction needle in the opposite direction of what they intended.

I was also told by leadership that we MUST cut costs or they will be forced to save money other ways. I'd rather not worry about my job and bypass all the (annoying and insulting) pizza/ ice cream parties.
