Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Threw personal items saving desk in trash this AM

A lot of talk this week about people living personal sh*t permanently at drop in open desks and everyone wanting to avoid conflict. I purposely picked a spot this morning where someone left pictures and personal items and threw them in the trash and shredded files. When the other lady came in I asked for her ATTUID then sent her the policy not to leave things. That is how it's done. If everyone does this then we will stop this BS or maybe the company will realize they need more desks and assigned spots.

Everyone needs to be respectful of one another. Find a space and go there daily. If you see someone is sitting in a space daily do not be a je-k and sit there just find another space to sit in and be consistent so no one else sits there. This is all manufactured by design and for some unknown reason they want to cause chaos and dehumanize people. I have seen multiple harsh words exchanged over seating in the past few weeks and it was really awful. I have never seen people talking to others at work as I have seen recently over seating. We are colleagues and friends and remember we are all better than this. Just find an open spot and claim it and continue to sit there. You will find most people will respect this as there are only a small minority who want to cause static.

Trashing someone else's property is stealing and anyone who does this should be fired. It would be better to just put the items, respectfully and carefully, on the floor in a corner by the door, or in a big box that is label'd "Lost & Found".

Destroying or trashing other people's property is theft.....

Nice, you’re a dou--e. They’re a dou--e for leaving sh-t, but you’re an even bigger one. Also people who leave their sh-t su-ks for cleaning staff too. Everyone su-ks

I get to the office and just toss the whole person in the trash compactor now.
Less people, more places to sit, less competition.
Win win win, that’s what I say.

Good story bro but let a man like me tell you how I handle the situation.
I carry a tube of open ritz cr--kers in my laptop bag. When I arrive in the morning if I walk past a saved desk I render it unusable in 10 seconds. I grab 2 or 3 ritz cr--kers, crush them in my hand and drop them all over the desk, keyboard, seat and all. I barely even break my stride as I approach, crumble, and walk past. What can I say, i’m what they call “unstoppable” in everything I do. Have a great day

I don't think it happened either, but think about it...

The OP might be a donkey if it really happened, but the squatter is wrong to begin with. The rules for drop-in space has been communicated ad-nauseum.

Did you grab a desk nearby so you could see the person lose the mind? Next time you do this, video it and blast on Reddit.

" I purposely picked a spot this morning where someone left pictures and personal items and threw them in the trash and shredded files."

The exaggeration is the tip off that this did not actually happen.

But I would still encourage people to sit in those seats and maybe just move the stuff to the side or put it on the floor.

I do that all the time. Tossed a full purse into the trash compactor last month. See ya!

We shouldn't have to do this the floor planning people should do this everyday if they really think this is a workable situation. It's their job to enforce this!
