Thread regarding Ford layoffs

You can't recommend any Ford vehicle to loved ones when so many better options are available in the market. Can't lie to them as our leaders do.

Other simple fact is they have probably lost a good segment of families and friends who were laid off and used to buy their products. Loyalty is a two way street.

Depends on the price. I had no problem recommending certain products before the supply chain went to sh-t because we were stacking cash on the hood. When you could get 10k off an Edge it was something to look at. At MSRP? Not so much.

I no longer own any Ford vehicles and when people ask why when they learn I work for Ford but drive competitor's vehicles, I explain how I purchase the vehicles we benchmark as BIC. Why would I buy our junk quality vehicles that we ourselves feel are less than the competition? Heck no, I'll buy the BIC competition.

I cannot and do not recommend any Ford vehicles from about 2018 onward to anyone that asks.

1993 Ford Tempo with 2.3L and 5 speed manual was a great car. Simple and reliable.

"Better" from one retiree's point of view means great reliability. Ford's focus in the last two decades has been initial quality, not reliability.

I love my 2020 mustang which still only has 7500 miles on it. So far, I've had zero problems and zero trips to the dealer. While that could change because the mileage is still low, it is a far better experience than I had with the two Japanese cars I previously owned. Nobody else makes a car quite like the mustang IMHO.

I love my Ford. Unfortunately, Ford didn't love me and laid me off. Sucks but I refuse to blame or put down the vehicles or those who produced them for my fate. Bitterness has no place in objective analysis.

If on the other hand we talk about SUVs, crossovers and trucks then I would agree that many options are out there. Are they "better"? Well that depends on one's point of view. I don't agree that Ford leadership is telling lies to the public. They are marketing their products in the same way GM, Toyota or Honda does. Is the CEO of GM not doing the same?
