"No, the last I heard the reports were only going to care about >4 hours in a day. Any higher and people were worried exempt worker status would be in jeopardy"
There is nothing in the exempt employee regulations related to tracking hours worked let alone hours in a particular location. The criteria is clear as to type of work and salary level and that's it.
starts tomorrow 8,5 hours!

Our group is a min of 4 hours in the office, 3 days a week. They wanna track exempt employees hourly? Go right ahead, just give me my severance, cuzz I'll keep my coffee badging.
until someone says something to you about it, keep doing what your doing. If something is in place, such as the current rto report, and you are out of compliance your manager is getting hounded and likely hounding you. same thing will happen if they ever move to the hourly tracking, if you aren't averaging whatever they determine the per day average should be then you will be beaten until you meet the requirement.
the question was about 7.5 mandates. I am aware some groups have 4 hrs, some 6 today. My group has never been told an amount of hours. Although I know coffee badging is frowned upon.
Well their metrics have been tracking hours in office forever based on various measurements, but now from what we’re hearing is they are going to start using the info to better monitor in-office compliance…another tool to label lower performers as ‘inconsistently meets’ requirements to assist in getting rid of someone ‘for cause’.
Its already 6 hours numb nuts.
I heard this from a higher level employee, but it was 6 hours. Not sure if it will actually happen, but the intention is there.
It will be massive!!!
Yup
yes they have reporting for hours in office, but nothing official has come out on how it will be implemented and what expectations will be. They need to be careful when it comes to exempt employees.
Whew! My team got lucky there. We were told it only had to be 7.2563478 hours a day! Whew, I say! WHEW!
Start and unsubstantiated rumor and then ask people to pile on and validate it. Well done
