Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Should I receive a written notice after being terminated over the phone?

I was terminated a while back and have received nothing from the company other than a request to sign a separation agreement. They have not provided any notice as to the reason for my termination and denial of severance, which I believe is required by ERISA. What have other who've been terminated received and what was the timeframe?

No problems. It can take a bit of time to become comfortable with a new word, although you so seem to be struggling with this Refusnik word. Give it some time.

@ag+1jp36tvng: Dear God, stop using the old, old, old fashioned term, "refuseniks". You have used it in multiple posts on multiple threads ad nauseum and it shows how boring and unoriginal you are. STFU.

I was let go by phone too and I didn't have an issue with RTO. RTO may not have had anything do with the poster's layoff.

So what are they giving you in return for signing the separation agreement?

I never received any information or contact after my managers manager notified me via zoom. Was never given paperwork or contacted by hr. They tried to fight the unemployment but I had emails and documents confirming my accommodations and manager approval. I won the appeal and received the benefits.

No the bank does not given written termination detail. If someone wants employment verification to say you dont work there anymore, they will offer that.
