Considering the leader of the group driving this is an accountant, has a personality disorder, and is hiring his like minded accounting friends, this entire thing is doomed.

AI is just a tool like everything else, it could be used as these corporate shills say to their shareholders and make the company more efficient. Or it could be used as it always has been used, as a cudgel against the labor force. Golly I wonder which way Wells Fargo will prioritize?

Seeing a post about a Head of Responsible AI position at WF, and then reading comments like, 'Let's just not use AI and avoid the doom of the human race,' is incredibly disheartening. Especially when they're using articles suggesting AI 'makes you d-mber' as an excuse to avoid learning.

This isn't about ignoring potential risks. It's about recognizing that AI is here, and responsible implementation is crucial. That's why WF is hiring a leader for ethical AI policies. However, some employees seem determined to remain willfully ignorant, clinging to fear-based narratives.

The numbers speak for themselves. Let's look at open roles:

Wells Fargo: 19 AI jobs.
Citi: 123 AI jobs.
JPMorgan Chase: 299 AI jobs.
Wells Fargo is lagging significantly behind its competitors. This resistance to AI, even when the company is actively seeking to address its ethical implications, is a major contributing factor. It's not about 'burying your head in the sand'; it's about actively sabotaging your own career and the company's future.

These employees are choosing fear and stagnation over growth and adaptation. It's no wonder layoffs are happening. The financial industry is evolving rapidly, and those who refuse to evolve with it will be left behind. Yes. AI is buttering my bread (2.5x more) than at this silly bank.

AI is making you d-mber, according to a study from Microsoft.

My manager heavily relies on it, and I can concur with this assessment.
