Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Lack of compassion all around

I keep seeing posts that are clearly by people whose frustrations have grown. Complaining about people taking focus rooms, people leaving things on desks, etc.

Yet, we are now hearing about layoffs in several organizations - ATS, CSO, NEO are the ones I have specifically heard so far from people laid off with RTO sitedas the reason. Instead of fighting your fellow coworkers, let’s remember that we’re all struggling through this sh-t. Keep in mind who the real villains are. It is NOT people leaving sh-t and camping out in rooms. It is the people upstairs. Let’s keep that energy for those who deserve it.

“ Why would they leave to RTO???? Makes no sense. They needed to go.”
You are either a troll or field ops - what part about people don’t want to have to move to another state don’t you get? No promotion, no extra pay, no relocation assistance. Thats a losing deal.

You can RTO 5 days or less anywhere else for more money and flexibility. Why do it here?

“ The flaw in your argument is that very few are leaving.”

Maybe in your group that’s probably filled with old boomers.

We’ve lost almost 30% of our group in 3 months. All of them left for better companies too.

All companies are returning to RTO and all Federal agencies. RTO is in DEI is out.

Our team lost our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th line managers, all due to RTO. All replaced by people in Dallas with no previous experience of what we do.

That is not correct. Quite a few are. Maybe not in your corner, but I can tell you from the team I’m in, we are losing a lot of people to finding new jobs. All the younger talent and we are struggling to backfill. Nobody wants to do 5x in office when most every other place is remote or hybrid at a minimum.

"Firing people without severance who’ve been with the company for decades over a moving target is pretty much villain behavior in my mind."

You don't get severance if you're fired for cause. You do get severance if you either decline to follow the job (move), or if you are surplussed/laid off either at a current location or if you follow the job and the lay off comes later.

@a5

You are possessed by satan.

Repent, and give your soul to God through Jesus Christ.
It's not too late, even for you...until it is.

The Gospel is only offensive to those who don't want to live under God's sovereignty. Many are called. Few are chosen."

RTO is a way to get people to quit. During lockdowns everyone proved the job could be done remotely. Plenty of teams are reporting to a desk just to be in teams meetings with others across the country.
The flaw in the plan is. The good people have options and leave.

Call them what you will. Firing people without severance who’ve been with the company for decades over a moving target is pretty much villain behavior in my mind. Obviously I’m not an id--t and know how a business works, but it’s all slimy.

I’ll tell you this right now, and I’ll tell you for sure. Fück that soul rayper, Jesus Christ. This was all his plan, his idea.

There are almost 2.5 billion other maroons on the planet who would agree that His will be done. Now, bend your body and soul over. Assume the position. Big smiles! In it goes…

We have layoffs because of bad leadership. Years of mismanagement. Yet the person who is responsible for that is still driving.
