In order to avoid a surplus an Enhanced Sipp of $80,000 coming to I&R department to be announced Friday 3-15. Garage locations will be announced by the company and offered to over headcount garages.

The System Techs in the SE had the opportunity to take an enhanced offer to be off payroll February 28. The offer was SIPP/ESIPP based on one’s seniority plus an extra 50k. Excellent offer if one is close or ready to retire.

Just went through this in January. It will come in waves across the company, only because it's overwhelming for HR. I can only assume this will be the status quo for the next year or so. No-one seems to know what will happen next though, there were not enough takers in 2-3 cities in which the buyout was offered.

Yeah, but OP is correct. This offer is coming 3/15/2030, which is the next Friday the 15th. Don't hold your breath waiting for this offer.
OP meant Friday 3/15/2019. I think that's when they offered 80k last time.
Rural techs had better jump on this offer.

Haven’t been a hands on Network person in awhile. Know it’s old news but remember when they started placing fiber for Uverse in some areas. Work disappeared for the cable techs. Those technicians started carrying around IW and jacks to pick up work which isn’t needed now for a lot of customers. Perhaps there is more attrition that isn’t being talked about. If not, how are the techs being kept busy and productive?
