We don't have contempt for the vast majority of Americans who have an education whether they got it at school or not. We only have contempt for the jerks who think the best jobs are their birthright just because they were born here, but have not made any effort to qualify for it, and instead just rage on online forums about how H1Bs are taking their jobs. Yeah, we are free to go home, just as we are free to come here and work if we follow the laws. Picking on H1Bs for you getting laid off or asking they should be laid of because you were standing in the parking lot whining, is not going to help. But if you had the foresight and intelligence to realize that you would not be here ranting in the first place.

It is a free market economy, so stop your whining about Indians and Chinese and spend that time educating yourself so you can qualify for the jobs you want, at a rate the market is willing to pay.

It’s the other way round, white people showing contempt towards H1Bs. You see the tone of OP ‘that’s a lot of H1Bs’ shows that contempt to H1Bs.

If you are not Native American, you can also go back to your financial crisis ridden moldy Europe .. You don’t belong here too..

It is amazing how many H1B holders harbor such great contempt for Americans and America in general. You do realize that you are free to go back home. Go back to the innovative companies in India or the freedom enjoyed in China... oh wait, neither of those exist. The reality is that the majority of the populations in the 2 most populous countries on the planet are illiterate. The vast majority of Americans have at least a secondary education. America has a lot of problems but it is still the best place on earth to live. I am assuming that is why you stayed after travelling here to get your tertiary education. If you don't agree refer back to my second sentence.

I demand that I be treated as the best because my forefathers conquered, defrauded, looted, subjugated, oppressed and exploited most of the world for hundreds of years! How dare they come to compete with me! Forget that I hardly tried to learn how to spell 'vacuum' or how to use 'then' and 'than' appropriately, or add two numbers without a calculator. I want the best jobs, the best pay and the best benefits, just because I think I deserve it! Damn those H1Bs for shattering my dreams!

Education is underfunded, teachers are underpaid and parents may not be as involved as they could be, in most countries. But I think it is only in this country that teachers are treated as the enemy.

Many parents constantly undermine, denigrate and demonize teachers and many students utterly disrespect their teachers.

In many other countries teachers are treated as gods.

You can't accomplish much without a good teacher and teachers just stop caring to be good when they are treated shabbily.

But fixing that will take hard work and real change. It is far easier to just blame the 'physically inept' immigrant 😀

All these folks out here hating on H1Bs....makes me think about a skit by Russell Peters about how there are no (?) Indians in the NBA :)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xh0-x1RFEOY

You can't spend 30 years in a country ignoring math and science education because you are lazy and/or stupid, and do not want to put in the effort, then show up at a high-tech company parking lot to scream "where are my kind of people instead of all H1Bs?" The kind of people who were encouraged to play sports or walking around with their pants down below bu-t-cheeks listening to cr---y music all day, instead of spending time studying math and science in high-school - they took the 'easy' way out and can only get 'easy' degrees.....'Do you want fries with that?'

Look at China in sports. They were not sitting around whining why they are not in the NBA. They spent 30 years, sometimes using inhumane methods, to build their athletes up and now they are in the NBA and the Olympics (some of them).

Instead of complaining why your people are not filling Intel and Google parking lots, teach their kids the value of a high-tech education and spend the years needed to build up that base :)
