I telecommute. I received a call at 0745 ET, I had overslept. I dragged myself out of bed, retrieved the voicemail message. I called my director back, and was informed that I was being furlowed. Yep, off the payroll by 12/30/22. This is so unfair, I was one of the best employees evar. Now I am forced to go looking for a job over the holiday season. The rent must be paid! The severance will be absorbed into the woodwork very quickly, then what?
They were forced (by HR) to call affected employees by seniority (NCS date).
Aint no damn volunteers. This was a blindside.

When will you people get it? VZ does not want or value tenured employees. Git yer 3 years and git out. The days of cradle to grave employment are over and done.
