Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Goodbye, Ford Fiesta

I am very European biased even though I live in Michigan. Even though I mostly drive American cars (due to availability), but I always prefer French, British and Italian cars. I noticed this yesterday on the front page review from SkyNews, and there is coverage about it today. Ford UK had this and rarely it is something I like from Ford. Perhaps not unlike Ford Sierra or Ford Granada, those cars beloved by many decades ago. (internally, there are still few people driving Ford Sierra among Ford employees, on both side of the Atlantic )

Anyone else remembers Colin McRae?

the rush to electric reminds of the bob lutz story about how GM downsized its cars way too fast in the late 70s early 80s. rushing them to market and having tons of quality problems. sounds familiar.

I don't think there was any business profit opportunity for data center sales or subscriptions for Fiesta and other entry level vehicles. Easy then to see why we are exiting that platform and its segment.

Yes its too bad. Ford small cars ki---d off in pursuit of $50,000 - $110,000 monstrosities.
