Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Working together plans in 2025

Does anyone have any updates on this, near constant rumours in office but not clear on the sources.

Key questions - will none managerial staff move to 4 days a week office, and could managers move to 5?

If I were you, I’d see a lawyer about this. If you truly were 3 days per week and can prove it, it’s worth a shot. Many states have their own EEOC offices you can contact.

Maybe we will go to 7 days 24-7 like our President. In that case id take 5 days in office like he does. Last guy work 10am to noon then got diaper changed and went to bed.

I was told by a confidential source that nobody responding to this chain knows they’re a$$ from their elbow.

I got fired in January without any kind of warning or reason. HR interviewed me twice basically badgering me over the times I got into the office and left. The policy had nothing as far as how many hours you need to come in for or if you needed to connect to the system, just badge in three times a week (I got a new computer that wouldn’t connect to the new office system we went into so it didn’t count my office time). This place is just looking to get rid of good people on RTO.

Only managers who have direct reports are 4 days a week right now.

Building plans are still having issues being able to fit everyone for a 4-day work week.

Don't believe any rumors.

If 5 days in office is good enough for federal employees then it is good enough for you too (except if you work from Mar A Lago which seems to be an exception for some reason)!

Look on the bright side, they can’t go to 6 days. Or can they? LOL

For those that are saying it will be soon be 5 days for everyone, do you have any sources you can share on how you know this?

😅
It means that the only thing that changes will be you going in 4 days a week. Weekends are going to have to happen for many - conversions, onboardings, tech upgrades. You are not going to get anything easy here except being possibly let go in the next layoff in April.

Does this mean no more agile flex, no more after hours and weekends work to will be scheduled?

I don’t think it’s an accident that the first “blog” post is about “thrive together” and “collaborating”. Add to that the nonsequitir of “not five days!” at the last town hall, and it’s clear what’s coming. Back to the 90s. Can’t wait for my d-mb terminal and clickety clack keyboard.

It’s going to happen. The C suites have been beating their meats in anticipation to announce it for everyone. Certain offices are currently under construction to accommodate the push to 4/5 days. Robin will likely butt chug some free coffee the day it’s announced. And all the RTO cucks that come in here will flick their beans

Confirmed, it will be April. For those who are in denial, tomorrow go ask your manager 1:1 or bring it up in a team meeting. Unless you have some medical or BAH exception, that’s it. I was told by end of April.

It will be 4 days a week for everyone.
I am a manager and I have already told my team to prepare for it.

I was just looking at the job postings, all over the place, some say just HYBRID, some specify 3 or 4 days. Some even say 3 days and specify that you would have reports, clearly not updated.
