This week was supposed to be a big week for Legg & Anthony orgs but all quiet here in Georgia. How are things out in Dallas and other areas? Surpluses, terminations, relocation notices?

“ …I don’t agree with this person being allowed to remain virtual when others on the team have to relocate or lose their jobs. ..”
As far as this NVW, this team has not been asked to relocate anywhere (yet at least). Team is spread all around the country. People within 50 miles of an office have to go into said office. A few people just aren’t within proximity to an office deemed acceptable.
I have a coworker that is virtual that I like and consider them valuable. However, I don’t agree with this person being allowed to remain virtual when others on the team have to relocate or lose their jobs. It’s disparaging treatment and shouldn’t be allowed. End of story.
“The simple fact is that I just don't live close enough to an office to make it a 5 x 8 commute like most everyone else now has to do. I do have to go into the "closest" big office once a month. I am not complaining about that.”
No virtual positions shoot be allowed
On the NVW topic.
I am NVW. That fact alone now angers people. I do get that. It's not "fair".
But it's also not something I "did". I didn't do anything unscrupulous or immoral to get that designation.

I guess, for now, the services I provide are still needed, and I am a solid contributor, so I am still here.
Regarding the speculation that there will be a fell swoop layoff of all NVW, I don't think that's how it will go down. I "think" it will very much depend on the organization and the team you are on, and what type of work you are doing. A large layoff based SOLELY on the NVW designator itself makes no sense, and I highly doubt it will go down that way.
If I do get the nod, I will be OK with it. I am MR 75 and will land on my feet and look at it as an opportunity. I do want that severance though, so as long as I am here, I am keeping my head down and continuing to do my work to the best of my ability.
Finally, in my opinion, those of you that are actively calling for and hoping that all remaining NVW be let go are a sad lot. Someone else losing their job shouldn't make you feel better somehow about the situation that you have found yourself in. Grow up.
"This is just the angry and bitter person that will somehow feel better when others lose their jobs speculating again."
No, I am someone being targeted. This is first hand knowledge directly from my leadership. And I'm far from angry, I'd just like to know when I'm being terminated, but the company doesn't respect us enough to even tell us, just cryptic messages.
" They will take out NVW by end of Q2. "
Hmm, heard that was supposed to be today. Guess not.

“ He left early to buy some guitar strings”
I’m thinking a piano wire would be far more fitting. 😏
It’s impacting mostly those who are not near hubs, so you won’t hear anything in the hubs themselves.
Virtual and RTO non compliant also targeted
Heard there were a lot of emails that went out.
Just quit!
I hope to be laid off.
It’s Legg. He’s an “Orchestrator” not a doer. He probably received a 15% off coupon from Guitar Center in his email. He left early to buy some guitar strings, before his weekly lesson at School of Rock.
“ What/who is NVW ?”
I believe it stands for national virtual worker. They’re definitely between the cross hairs.
People were fired due to office presence. More expected
Occupational in the SE region were definitely impacted last week!
What/who is NVW ?
They will take out NVW by end of Q2. The only thing that will determine how fast is if they will send move letters rather than straight surplus.
Read the other threads lol, Legg's org did plenty of terminations this and last week
All quiet on the western front as well!
Quiet in San Ramon.
