Does our insurance run thru the end of the month of your end of severance time? For example my severance ends mid May, does my insurance go thru the entire month?

It’s the full severance period because you’re still getting paid so you’re still paying into your insurance. The only thing you can’t pay into is the 401k.
if you are leaving a company make sure your last day at minimum is the first business day of month. that way your insurance will be good until end of month and you'll get that months PTO accrual.
