Flex In-office requirement calculation

Has anyone noticed the Working Together calculation for minimum required days in office has changed (at least for Flex schedule)? The calculation is (20 possible days minus (-) # days taken off for holidays, vacation, WFA, etc.) x 60%. For all of 2024, the minimum required days was always rounded down, no matter the decimal.

For example, if I took 2 days off, I would have 18 possible days to come in the office. 18 days * 60% = 10.8 days where I would be required to be in the office. I actually came in the office 10 days and was on model for this period. They ALWAYS rounded down. This occurred at least 6 times in 2024 and I was always on model.

Well looks like BNY changed their rounding for 2025 and never notified us. Granted, they never notified us of the rounding down practice, but I figured that out through trial and error. So much for transparency! Now they are using this shady tactic to flag people as below model for not meeting their in-office requirement. Shame on them!

I contacted HR, and as expected they gave a non-answer and are quick to close the request. They advised to “always round up when performing your own calculations.. regardless of how the dashboard may round.”

So they are expecting us to calculate on our own. What’s the purpose of the dashboard then? Meanwhile MySource rounded down the minimum days for me this period.

They ignored my questions on what the actual rounding calculation is, why isn’t it transparent in the policy, why won’t they update the MySource card if it’s incorrect, etc.

Just remember to put your requests in by each Thursday. I got flagged but then corrected. Su-ky system.

I often have delays with holidays and exceptions feeding through to the dashboard. There's times its taken 3 weeks. It's cr-p yet they are using it to fire people

I am 4 days in office and it’s always rounded down and still does. I do know that if you enter time off later in the day Thursday it might not be picked up until the next sometimes.

Contact HR. My team has our own tracker that we check it against. When this first started the working together tracker wasn’t rounding right and we contacted HR and plead our case, and they fixed it. But we haven’t seen any issues this year. It’s been matching our tracker.

Well, so much for communication. So what happened? Did you get flagged by one day and taken to task? If your manager is any good, can they adjust for you as mine does?
So now it seems if you are xx.4999 to xx.0000 you round down to the lower day. If you are xx.5000 to xx.9999 you round up to the higher day. Is that correct?

Have you checked the policies/FAQs on Working Together to see if it mentions any changes?

I am on Flex 4 days (people manager), and my scorecard tells me I have to do 15 days this month from possible 19 days. (20 - 1 UK Bank Holiday = 19 days).

The 80% calculation is 0.80*19 = 15.2.

It has rounded down for me. What is your exact percentage to do?
