Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

TMUS Earnings Call: Intentional, factual, logical!

At 4:30pm ET today I watched the live T-Mobile earnings call. It was a breath of fresh air to see how a US communications company should conduct themselves! I understood every one of their management teams' commentary - on point, fact based, quantitative & their focus over & over again was on their customers, and how their great team is inspired to deliver results according to the clear strategy (with a soft "g")! A few years ago we were in the drivers seat. But, we lost our way, we don't care about our customers anymore, we got greedy & complacent! TMUS 1.6 million net adds speaks for itself, Hans & the "VLC" dropped the ball, BIG TIME! Devastating...Verizon will be a study in how big business failed its customers, shareholders & employees. So sad for the thousands of employees that got this company to where it was, just to watch it slip into oblivion at the hands of utter professional incompetence. I'm so sorry for all of us!

lol. Tmobile does nothing but lie.

They also have a PE ratio of 100... for a communications company (lol)

Like another poster said, they are burning through cash to offer all the free cr-p to customers. They will be in a world of hurt sooner than later. I don't like Hans, he's a terrible CEO focused on identity politics and nothing more but Tmobile is not a good company

Come on over to TMUS, the latest fad, providing free food for employees. Yesterday they catered in Popeyes! Fried bone in chicken, fried chicken tenders, mashed potatoes & gravy, beans & rice, fresh hot biscuits with butter and honey. All You care to eat! I'm living it. Beware TMUS has been laying off too. Oh yeah, next week they are having Cr--ker Barrel cater lunch.

I just left T-mobile 2 weeks ago and believe me when I say that they will be hurting soon. Yes, they are getting all those subscribers, but they are burning through cash up the a**. We pitched the products, solutions and services at a steep discount. The culture is OK, but you are under paid comparing to VZ & AT&T.... I worked for VZW 5 years ago

I saw this coming as soon as he was put in place. He was fired from his last job for bringing down that company. His answer was to RIF people there and erode the company to nothing. Does this sound familiar? Sc--w the recession. I don't see TMo and ATT hurting right now. They are enjoying this so called recession and taking all of our customers. He needs to go.

I was rankled when Hans and some others kept saying “if” there’s a recession. Two quarters of negative growth IS a recession and the fact that Hans and others are spinning it like the politicians are trying to really erodes my trust.

Thank you for the link, OP. Just watched and it’s hard not to compare the upbeat, happy tone of this call with the call Hans led. Over all I’m happy at VZ but it’s hard to feel good about working there right now, as much as I enjoy my work.

I’m not in the know about the “conspiracy theories”. Would appreciate if you could share. If nothing else, I’d enjoy the brief entertainment, but honestly curious about the theories.

OP you are so right. What a major difference on delivery. I just watched and I am shocked. This is what is lacking here. I feel like we have a bunch a deer in headlight, very clipped responses but it isn't just during the quarterly calls. I miss this type of leadership. We had this at one time. Where is our concentration? Where is the all hands on deck and lets roll up our sleeves? Why aren't the executives who thought it was a good idea to raise rates all riffed? Why are we going down?

Hans was very defensive on our earnings call last week. I know the economy is bad but much of the vz financial debacle is due to incompetent leadership and the employees pay the price by being laid off and those left behind will have twice as much work.

TMO is definitely rocking the marketing and advertising. I wonder if it’s a good company to work for, what their culture is like.

How he got the job I have no idea. Ran Erickson into the ground so completely it's hard not to listen to conspiracy theories.
