Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Silly of me to care, but it's my brand

So I received the lay off package, so did my manager, my managers director, my SA, my overlay, my customers had no assigned support other than these people, it is digital assist remote customer support for my customers. So self and enitre team are laid off! I was over plan, well over consitantly- it appears they only took top performers - all that doesn't matter, they tell us Thursday morning, but don't bother to tell us what to tell our customers! We are what? supposed to continue working 12 hours a day for our customers? Keep the fact that ourself and their entire team has been dismissed to ourselves for the sake of Verizon?!? nevermind the personal and professional relationships we have built (with our customers) - the trust we have gained and the faith the customer has in us personally. We are supposed not say a word to them, keep selling to them - and maybe Verizon will tell us how we are to tranision these customers and to whom? Seriously! If Verizon wants to have a chance to keep their customers then why don't you have that part figured out? Are you selling off the wireline business? Maybe? But it's the same customer that buys wireless, so good luck with all that. I am my own brand (we all are) I know we won't miss the toxic enviorment - wishing all my fellow laid off people the very best and to those who remain - wishing you the same!!!

Hey, I get it. I was laid off also and in a sales role. I have customers that I signed agreements with since 2013 and have Great relationships with them BUT the company (Verizon) made the decision to let me go, NOT my customers. Unless you are going to apply for a job with one of your customers or will continue a relationship with them after you leave Verizon, let be Verizon's problem, NOT YOURS!

I feel ya. I have several meetings scheduled over the next few weeks and I just don't know how I am going to be able to look these prospective customers in the eye and sing the "best people, best network" song knowing that I and my entire management team will not be here to support them if they should decide to sign a contract.

OP, let me get this straight.
You’re either for some uncanny reason worried that the entity that laid you off might lose customers because of your careers demise, and you want to stop itt?
or
You’re creating this scenario in the insane hope that your being put to pasture might be reversed by your silly words?
Which one?

Assuming you get a job with a competitor why not just take them with you?

You were told to go home and stay there. You are not expected to work through 12/30/2022. Turn in any VZ owned property, you are done. Try to force HR to check the rehire box before leaving.

You need to put your interests first. Just do the minimum needed to not jeopardize your severence agreement.
