Observation from the UK is that this process is being handled badly, little respect, no recognition of the stress it's inducing on folks there and no understanding of this outside of the UK.

Likely indicative of the future treatment of the remaining HC10 to follow.

@mt+1jqag8zdk my first question in the consultation would be for specifics on those criteria.

@hs+1jqag8zdk They are repatriated to be included in the affected people and are therefore subject to the same redundancy process.

Only a handful of ex pats are not being recalled under some unclear exclusion criteria.

What's happening to the UK expats currently on the circuit? Are they being repatriated/part of the cuts as well?

There are no more North Sea opportunities. Some benefit to supporting west Africa from the UK due to time zone but if supporting remote may as well use Indians is the thinking of management. Norway sold years ago. Groningen gas field dead. What is left for these people to do? Australia is headed the same way. No upstream opportunities. Bass strait dead. Longford dead without any gas coming into it. Everything else is OBO. PNG can be supported by Indian rotators is management thinking.

Don’t forget the random UK expats they are laying off also in the “name” of the Leatherhead office. People who have nothing to do with the functions in UK (annd therefor zero chance to be “relocated”) and are needed by the business units abroad. Instead we will be replaced by cheap India labour and more expensive American labour. Just an excuse to get rid of more UK payroll employees…the true end is definitely coming for the UK

Port-Jérôme (aka Gravenchon) is not (yet?) sold, but the future of the site is written on the wall. It's the Fos refinery, on the French Med coast, that's been sold.

UK MPT population decimated, sign of things to come. Although UK is very isolated economic, which means it is likely the first victim, same strategy will be implemented all across HC10.

Sad direction to be going.

It is terrible to see this happening. Our team mates have been with us for decades. Now they are getting laid off. I wish them the best.

There will be no exploration after these changes. Upstream goes from 60 people to less than 5

This is the time where we should care for our people. Let’s not be pr--k$ and wind each other up. Remember the company are putting us all against one another and they are the ones who are offshoring the jobs
