Let this be a lesson

Think about if your manager is vindictive or is a micro manager stuck in the 1980's. If you've offended them in some way keep it in mind because all they have to say are the words time theft and HR or CM can request reports to view how long you're in the office and when you go home. Don't trust other people on your team to vouch for you either when the manager is hunting for some misalignment no matter how small.

Many people including myself wonder what their managers are doing and how they have their jobs when they know so little. Well, what they're doing with their time is watching you. You could be the most helpful person on your team, work to better your department, have impeccable numbers, showcase a brand of excellence, but if your manager is jealous or is on the warpath none of that will matter. They'll put in the request to watch your every move, talk about flexibility.

Very true. Have seen this within my team. Playing favorites. Exploiting resources. Abuse of power.

@ey+1jqc97eg0 as someone who works in Conduct Management I can say that this is exactly how it works. But don't take my word for it, perhaps ignorance is bliss in this situation.

This same person keeps posting these Orwellian fantasies.

They never seem to lay of the manager... only when the whole team is layed off then the manager gets laid off. So we are over managed, micromanaged. I have worked with/for 10 banks and no all are not Wells. Wells is the worst. So the career strategy is to upskill and quietly quit (if you have a relatively good manager). I have seen good gone bad in a short time. As we all get churned up ready for the India soup we get reassigned to a..hole managers. Now is the stock headed for the 60's...

It's not that hard.

My manager is the same way he grew up at Wells Fargo in Wells Fargo is the place that he learned to be a manager at. I've had to complain to HR about him a couple times and in return he blacklisted me and gave me such a low review that you couldn't help but know it was a payback for going to HR.

You have to look for another job and move on, your permanently marked and it will not change it will just get worse... You have to remember that Wells Fargos American side of the house doesn't really focus on managers that are good at their job they focus on the feelings and pronouns of said personnel and it sounds like you have hurt your boss's feelings and refuse to be your boss's friend and drinking buddy which has marked you for the rest of your career... You either move to another position or you move out of the company that's the only way things are going to get better for you if you choose to stay in the negative situation then it will just get worse... Remember at Wells Fargo it's not about what you know it's about what friendship counter you can maintain because in this company no one says the word no and everyone does risk avoidance and tossing the Hot potato to someone else to take responsibility... Move on somewhere else where you can at least have some mental and emotional validation as a human being if you choose to stay here you're going to be even worse off and keep in mind that every manager here at Wells Fargo doesn't care about another employee... if one of Charlie's board members took a nosedive out of the top floor in Delaware after a board meeting and Charlie didn't even acknowledge it or call for a moment of silence and just washed it away like it didn't exist where do you think you fair at on the spectrum of priorities?

This is constructive criticism your boss has no respect for you and will never develop any kind of professionalism in that way for you it sounds like your team is going to side with their boss just to cover their rear because they need the paycheck and you either tolerate for the paycheck or you move on either way it's your choice but it's no surprise to anyone on this thread that managers do this because majority of the managers that are not doing Branch management clearly went to a webinar or some kind of military train the trainer boot camp for a week and now they're subject matter experts and whatever field they're talking about... Throw in some ai and you're just as savvy as your Indian counterparts that are doing a lot better job.

@ar+1jqc97eg0 Your boss sounds like he has a personality disorder. Run as fast as you can cause his behavior will not change. It will not get better. And HR will do nothing to protect you. I'm sure your boss ain't the only one with a PD here.

My manager is not the sharpest tool in the box, I have no idea how he got this job. He is emotionally very unstable, needy, insecure, paranoid and constantly whining about everything and everybody. This big loser is also a control freak bully and he is a high maintenance adult child. I don't know what to do with this mental case, I need to find a new job elsewhere.

My manager has no idea where I am and doesn't care because I get my work done and there are no issues. Maybe you're part of a team that needs to be watched?

Are there really managers who are such pricks? Mine is completely transparent and sticks up for us every chance he gets.

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.
